Great effort!
Come a long way since '89 when we got stitched up by a Sydney Zone Rep side in U15's...
"Bloody oath we did!"

WA U15 & U17 HOST NATIONAL JUNIOR GOLD CUP FINAL
Western Australia will host the national Junior Gold Cup (JGC) grand finals this Sunday (29 March) at UWA Sports Park’s McGillivray Oval after the state’s Under 15 and Under 17 sides both qualified for their respective competition deciders.
The Under 15 final against the ACT will kick off at 2.30pm while the Under 17 final, also against the ACT, will start at 4pm.
Both WA teams won through to their finals following victories in Tuesday’s Northern Conference finals at Ballymore in Brisbane, with the Under 15 side defeating Brisbane Pink, 18-14, while the Under 17’s also defeated Brisbane Pink, 33-0.
Both sides remained undefeated throughout the tournament, winning each match with the exception of the Under 17’s 10-all draw against the Gold Coast.
The achievement comes in the wake of last year’s success, when the WA Under 17 side lifted the inaugural Junior Gold Cup with their 28-19 win in the final over Victoria in Perth.
The ACT sides both overcame Victoria in yesterday’s Southern Conference finals, with the Under 15’s winning, 41-22, and the Under 17’s, 28-24.
RugbyWA Junior Elite Coach Dwayne Nestor says the qualification of both sides is a reflection of the continual growing strength of local rugby talent within the state.
“This is a fantastic achievement by both our Under 15’s and Under 17’s to win through to the national final against the best under-age talent in the country,” he said. “This follows the success of our WA Under 20’s, who again won the Southern States Championships in Adelaide last month.
“There were big expectations on both JGC sides following last year’s success, but both squads have been extremely professional in how they’ve played and conducted themselves – both on and off the field – throughout the tournament.
“We’d love to see our rugby community join us at McGillivray Oval on Sunday to support our rising rugby stars.
“It’s very exciting to see Western Australia represented in both Junior Gold Cup finals, and if they continue to play the way they did through the preliminary rounds and Conference finals, they’ll put themselves in a great position to lift the cup on Sunday.”

WA have got this.
The ACT u15s only conceded 15pts in the pool games and the SA boys did get 3 of those. Their u17s are more used to playing mungo as they played for 10 minutes with 2 in the bin through going the biff.

WA SIDES NAMED TO CONTEST JUNIOR GOLD CUP FINALS
The Western Australia Under 15 and Under 17 squads have named their line-ups to contest Sunday’s national Junior Gold Cup grand finals at UWA Sports Park’s McGillivray Oval.
The Under 15 final against the ACT will kick off at 2.30pm while the Under 17 final, also against the ACT, will start at 4pm.
The WA Under 17’s have named three players – Zac Branca, Tomasi Masibaka and Sosifa Likio – who were a part of last year’s side that lifted the inaugural Junior Gold Cup with a 28-19 win over Victoria in the final.
The side also features towering lock Ricky Van Der Heyden and pacey outside centre Kade Pearce – the team’s top try scorer with four five-pointers thus far – who have both also been in strong form for the WA side.
The Under 15’s squad features just one player from last year’s campaign, with Rockingham’s Atu Likio returning for his second season with the squad.
Flyhalf Campbell Parata has been important in the team’s success this season in controlling matches, while flanker John Martin Stewart has been influential with his powerful defence. Outside centre Jaylen Tuapola has been strong in the midfield with his ball carrying while winger Carlo Tizzano has crossed for three tries during the tournament.
Both WA teams won through to their finals following victories in their Northern Conference finals in Brisbane, with the Under 15 side defeating Brisbane Pink, 18-14, while the Under 17’s also defeated Brisbane Pink, 33-0.
Both sides remained undefeated throughout the tournament, winning each match with the exception of the Under 17’s 10-all draw against the Gold Coast.
Entry to Sunday’s matches is FREE while parking is available for a gold coin donation with proceeds going to RugbyWA Juniors.

so that's, what, 7 rockingham players in total
and no rockingham premier grade?
Get on down and support the local lads this arvo. Cricket's a shit game anyway
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

CELEBRATION AND HEARTACHE FOR WA AT JUNIOR GOLD CUP
The 2015 national Junior Gold Cup titles have been decided this afternoon at McGillivray Oval in Perth with Western Australia taking out the Under 15 grand final, 29-24, and ACT the U17s after pipping the home side by just two points, 17-15.
Under 15s
There was plenty of action in the U15 grand final with both sides relentless in their attack but it was WA who came out on top in front of an their ecstatic home crowd.
WA flyhalf Campbell Parata was the standout in the match, scoring 24 of Western Australia’s 29 points with unfaltering accuracy from the boot and a try in the second half that kick-started his side’s comeback from a 10-point deficit.
After Parata had WA on the board early with a long-range penalty goal from a difficult angle, ACT took a 5-3 lead when quick passes moved the ball in-field from the lineout and fullback Brendan Jimenez crossed for his first of the day. Another penalty goal for Parata when ACT was pulled up for not releasing put WA ahead 6-5.
Jimenez scored his brace in thrilling fashion with an 80 metre run to dot it down under the posts. Sterling Dayle added the conversion and the visitors had the 12-6 lead.
With time up in the first half, Parata slotted his third penalty to get the WA side back within three points at the half-time break.
ACT extended their lead to 19-9 early in the second when they sent it wide to Jack Gilmore who passed it to Wezley Alexander on his outside to sprint the 50 metres to the try-line.
Parata shortened the gap to just three points when he received the pass from scrumhalf Connor O’Sullivan at the base of the ruck and darted through to cross under the posts before slotting the conversion.
A fourth penalty for Parata evened up the scores 19-all before WA stole back the lead when they moved the ball down the sideline to see Jaylen Tuapola cross in the corner. Parata’s conversion took it to 26-19 and he then pushed the lead out to ten points with another successful penalty kick.
With not long left on the clock, ACT scrambled to recoup the points and a charge down from a kick saw Zane Maralt scores the try to get them within five points. Time eventually got the better of ACT and WA took the U15 Junior Gold Cup title, 29-24.
WA 29 (Campbell Parata, Jaylen Tuapola try; Campbell Parata 2 conversions, 5 penalty goals) defeated ACT 24 (Joel Atkins, Brendan Jimenez, Wezley Alexander, Zane Maralt tries; Sterling Dayle 2 conversions)
Under 17s
Despite a gallant performance, WA was unable to defend their Under 17 Junior Gold Cup title against a persistent ACT side.
ACT took the 7-0 lead through patient play that resulted in Jordan Nicholls breaking through the defence to cross the try-line before Mack Hansen added the extras.
WA evened things up when quick hands spread it wide and the subsequent personnel overlap found Neli Auvea with no one between him and line. Flyhalf Anthony Hondros slotted the conversion easily.
Tomasi Masabaka scored his fifth try of the tournament when he barrelled through the opposition line to take the lead to 12-7 through to the half-time break.
ACT took the 14-12 lead in the second when patient phase play on the line saw Sam Dobb run through from the pass off the back of the ruck to score next to the posts and Hansen added the conversion.
The lead changed again when Hondros capitalised on an ACT penalty, banging it over the crossbar to take it to 15-14.
ACT stole back the lead and the title when Hansen slotted a penalty and despite the efforts of WA they couldn’t claw back the two points, losing 15-17.
ACT 17 (Jordan Nicholls, Sam Dobb tries; Mack Hansen 2 conversions, penalty goal) defeat WA 15 (Neli Auvea, Tomasi Masabaka tries; Anthony Hondros conversion, penalty goal)
