Western Force lock/flanker Steve Mafi has taken another step towards representing Tonga in this year’s Rugby World Cup after being selected in the Ikale Tahi (Tongan) squad for the upcoming 2015 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup in Fiji and Canada.
The squad will have a strong Western Force presence with former Force hooker Elvis Taoine, and former team staff Scott Anderson (Performance Analyst) and Rob Naish (Physiotherapist) also a part of the squad.
The ‘Ikale Tahi squad can be found here http://www.westernforce.com.au/artic...ic-nations-cup
The team will meet in Tonga in early July for a training camp before departing for Suva to take on Fiji in the first of their three pool matches for the Pacific Nations Cup.

I know this is off topic but the Western Force doc has been appointed as the Wallabies doc for the RWC. Very well deserved imo. You will never meet better doc or a nicer guy. 👍

Congratulations Steve, enjoy every moment.
Will this mean he takes a marquee spot (and why Steenkamp has been told to look elsewhere, as rumoured here)?
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Mafi would have already been in a marquee spot given he has already played 10 Tests for Tonga.
Congrats to Steve, very well deserved selection.
Well deserved for sure. Was up there with Ben Mac for consistant good form all season & must be right in contention for POTY.
