G'day All
Heading over to London on Tuesday with the old man. Any advice on pubs to visit around Twickenham for a few pre/post game bevvies on Saturday?
Have always enjoyed getting off at Richmond and walking towards Richmond Bridge over the Thames.
ALL of the pubs close to the Bridge have great atmosphere, beer gardens and wall-to-wall rugby supporters.
Get there a couple of hours early and you've a chance of a good Beef and Guinness pie washed down with some great ales. JOY!
The walk from Richmond bridge to Twickers with the gathering hordes memorable as is getting to the ground during the warm-ups and feeling the atmosphere build. Fantastic stadium - hardly a bad seat in the house!
Enjoy!!
The most famous are probably the Moon and the Cabbage Patch. From what I recall, both have decent beer and beer gardens for some pre-game drinks.
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
Cabbage patch is great but you have to get there pretty damn quick as it fills up bloody fast.
May the FORCE be with you!
Could try the Admiral Nelson too - a great rugby pub to rival the Cabbage Patch
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
Thanks everyone! They all sound great. We're there for both wallabies games so will give a few of the options a go..
Btw was that TWFers i saw on the tv tonight with a sign saying " Go Big Dog. May the Force be with with you"?
