Former Associates player, coach and administrator Bob Hunter has been appointed General Manager of RugbyWA’s Game Development.
Hunter is a popular identity within the RugbyWA Senior Grades, having coached teams from Under 12 to Pindan Premier Grade with the Swanbourne club, as well as holding several administrative positions within the club, including Director of Rugby Operations.
The 52-year-old, who has coached Western Australian state Under 17 and Under 21 teams, was awarded the Rugby Union Community Coach of the Year Award (WA) in 2011 and coached Associates to four Colts premierships between 2009 and 2013.
Hunter, a former officer in the Australian Army and Special Air Services Regiment, joins RugbyWA from his management consultancy business, Operational Leadership Consulting.
“Bob is very familiar with our game in Western Australia, and will provide great value to our Game Development area,” RugbyWA CEO Mark Sinderberry said.
“In line with our Strategic Plan, a key part of Bob’s role involves working closely with our rugby community to understand how we can continue to assist them in achieving their goals, and to develop and implement the strategies that will enable the continued growth of our game in Western Australia.”
Hunter will commence his new role on Monday, 4 January 2016.
