Rugby fans in Australia (Perth specifically) lack a signing voice during games. Unlike other sports where fans singing is a common occurrence (eg. soccer and rugby in England) Australian rugby fans are incredibly quiet. Its no secret, that despite recruiting good players, the Force are going to struggle in 2016. I believe that we should try to motivate the boys while they're playing even more than what we have been doing in previous seasons and that we should do this by chanting. There are many chants/songs that can be sung and these can be found on youtube (search "english soccer chants") and on the "fanchants" website. These chants are generalised, so can be easily molded to suit the Force. And we can also of course think of our own chants. I think that we would only need 15-30 people to start a group and it can develop from there. If we go through with this idea it would be best if we sat in or infront of the shed. Chanting could be a big part of the Forces season and could possibly develop Australia into a vocal rigby nation (that might be a bit of a long shot though haha).
I hope you consider my idea and reply if you are interested, i really think we could make this a thing.
Cheers
Great idea, are you going to head it up?

We've been trying for 10 years and not managed it yet. Just don't seem to be able to get everyone singing of the same hymn sheet! Pun intended.
May the FORCE be with you!

I've said it in the past in here , but how the crowd tries to chant "Fo - orce" in two syllables sounds lame to me. At the very least it needs to be "Western Force" or maybe "sea of blue". Something with more than one syllable.
It will probably be easier for us to chant something when there's all of those tries being scored by theI expect, but we wouldn't know that until they go ahead and score them

Maybe we could chant "Ecky-Ecky-Ecky-Facang-Zoom-Boing" after a try?![]()

We tried to get this going a few years ago...by attending "meetings" at RugbyWA and very few of us turned up!!
I am all for it.. as snob says it's getting us to "chant" from the same chant sheet" is the problem.. How soccer does it so well is beyond me..
tbh I am not sure why we need chants and songs...
"Believe in the best, think your best, study your best, have a goal for your best, never be satisfied with less than your best, try your best, and in the long run things will turn out for the best."
i dont think i would be the best for that role
Who did you contact at RugbyWA??
also what did you talk about at these meetings?
