Wallabies front-rower Tetera Faulkner is set to return in a much-needed boost for Western Force as they head off for three games in New Zealand.
But the curse of the No.10 has struck again with Jono Lance ruled out with what could be a season-ending torn left pectoral muscle.
Tighthead Faulkner missed the first three rounds of Super Rugby after damaging his knee in pre-season.
His technical ability and strength will be a welcome relief to a front row that has struggled badly at times in the opening rounds.
Lance is the second fly-half to be hit by injury this year after Luke Burton suffered serious ankle damage before the season began.
His starting spot against the Hurricanes on Friday afternoon (WA time) will be taken by former Springbok Peter Grant who, remarkably, will be the 24th fly-half used by the Force as they move into their 11th season.

It will be great to have Tet back, had a quick chat to him on Friday night and he is chomping at the bit to get back into action. He will add much needed starch to the front row.
Devastated about Jono, such a nice guy and he was really getting it together for us, hopefully it is less serious than expected and that he is back in the saddle ASAP.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
if that is true about lance then that is shite - for himself and the team. He was looking very comfortable in 10 when he couldn't get a run in the first team anywhere else.
I think that was the injury that kept van wyk out for the entire season??![]()
Non sunt multiplicanda entia sine necessitate
I think Nathan Charles also suffered one of those injuries in a Wallabies game and took ages to recover. Such rotten luck just when we were getting some momentum :-((
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
Bot awesome to have Tets back!
Hopefully Peter ZGrant has been looking at the tapes and won't head to the bad old days of the Force out of habit through being a stormer!
