Hello, my name is Burgs and I am an addict…
So, after a couple (4?) of years of all but total self-imposed exile, I find myself feeling drawn back to TWFville. It is not that I haven’t missed the place, or wondered how my TWF friends were getting on. Truth is most of them I am connected with on Facebook nowadays anyway.
Life, in the form of a business opportunity, came my way in 2011 and, put simply, consumed every spare minute of the next four years. Since July last year, it has been a case of scrambling for business survival among the ashes of a lost tender and a state-wide downturn.
All of this, however, was what made it easier not to sign in for my daily dose of Rugby banter. The truth is I wasn’t enjoying TWF anymore. The constant wankerism of certain troll members had ruined a community that I had enjoyed since the earliest days and ruined the pleasure I had previously gained from sharing a passion for Rugby in general and the Force in particular with (mostly) mates. Certainly with many members who I had come to know in person and who to this day still regard as “real life” friends. Efforts by fellow Mods did not appear to be making any difference and, given the events in my own world and the saying “If you aren’t part of the solution, you are part of the problem”, I faded to blue/black for a while.
During this time I have kept in touch with many of the old crew through alternate means, finally met thunderchook on a cold night in Santa Fe, been to two or three Force matches each year, been past JB’s a few times to try and pick up a smoking habit (advertising memorabilia debacle reference…) and remained passionate about Rugby in WA.
So, while unlikely to be to the same level as in earlier years, I do look forward to spending more time here and renewing friendships and friendly jousts. I do hope that many of the f*ckwits that spoiled the experience for me (and quite a few others) have moved on and I look forward to what is shaping up to be a far better 2017 for the Force. I have faith…![]()

Good to see. Hope the scramble was successful.
Amazingly you are still top dog in the numbers game. So I'm guessing that situation will remain.![]()

Well, I did miss you Burgs - you seemed to know what you were talking about, so I learnt a lot from your posts. And you seemed not to be a wanker, which is nice.
Personally I agree with Shasta I think you are only back do as not to lose the most numerous post-er mantle ;-)
We seem to have the same number of wankers about they just wear different faces.
Good luck with the business and welcome back
