Meanwhile, Los Angeles born winger Marcel Brache has been selected for the USA Eagles for their tour matches against Romania, and Tonga later this month.

Little tidbit at the bottom of the article about Brache
Good for him and well deserved.
Seems like a genuinely nice bloke.
If he plays he will then be required to be listed as a marquee player as he will never be eligible to play for aus.
No offence to the guy but it would be a wasted spot on the roster.
“Everyone knows whether it’s rugby, politics or whatever, front-rowers should rule the world, so to have a hooker at the helm makes sense,” Nathan Charles Western Force & Wallabies Hooker.
Worse than Peter Grant?

Another victim of an outdated qualification system.....and a restriction of trade. Should only apply to those representing Tier One nations.

Congratulations Marcel.
Japan and the Pacific Islands for Aussie Super 9's!
Let's have one of these in WA! Click this link: Saitama Super Arena - New Perth Stadium?
Hate to criticize a Force player, but I have never been a big fan due to his handling lapses. To me I hope it might be a loophole to give him the flick and replace him with someone like Jones from the Rays
Congratulations Marcel.
Brilliant
With Tapuai off to Bath, we might need Brache. Have we still got 2 marquee spots? Weren't they Mathewson & Grant last season, so with Alby gone, we could move that marquee to Brache.
Seems a bit of a waste, though, our marquee spots being the back-up fly-half and utility back
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
We had three, Mathewson, Grant and Mafi. Not sure whether we'd get three this season - or whether we could afford them!
truthfully I don't think we need the Marquee spots
we've been recruiting really well locally without them
and that speaks volumes for the NRC and the value of the Force in WA
Brache still has value, he's probably one of our best defensive players and works well with scraps, if he could improve the butterfingers he'd be our second best backline player.
What he lacks in size and class, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm
