Well it was almost 10 years ago on 02-02-07 I joined this page as a Blue Bulls and Boks supporter fresh off the boat from South Africa , I then vouched my loyalty to the Force and the Wallabies only because plain and simple I believe you support the local team where you live you!!!!, cant support a team 10,000km away and feel proud and part of them.
It has been a interesting 10 years lots of ups and downs; I did my fair share for the local rugby scene I served as club member of 2 great local clubs(Baysie And Roodogs), helped out as Junior and sometimes senior club coach for 8 of the 10 years I also did a stint as U15 State side junior manager,
3 years on the WAJRU as executive member and development officer, I saw Junior rugby excel to in excess of 4600 players,
I also served as Junior Club committee member at Wanneroo - the most successful junior rugby club in WA for as long as I can remember.
Last but not least I also caused a fair bit of angst among a few( maybe more) rugby people in WA, but it all was done in the name of the game I never rated myself bigger than the game
I am moving to Brisbane in February so this is causing a bit of an issue with my believes that you support local... If you go and search this forum you will find that apart from the tahs at no1 for disliking a rugby team I feel very much the same for the reds .. well I used to I will now need to change LOL
The Force will always be my favourite team but the Reds will now have to take the no1 spot when it comes to wearing a rugby jumperdoes not make sense does it....
On TWF I have or have used 2 names.. my real name and THEFORCEGUY(and the odd few extra names when I was really frustrated) most people know me by both those, the only reason I had to go stealth was during my time on the WAJRU.
One thing is for sure I will still pop in here every now and again just to see how you all are going because there is nowhere better to talk about rugby with rugby people than here.
best of luck Pieter
Best wishes to you and your family Pieter as you embark on your new adventure.
Thanks for your considerable personal contribution to Rugby in this State.
All the best PB. Safe travels ....
Best of luck with the move Pieter.

from first hand experience - the reds don't have to take the spot of the force, and you can still post regularly on here from Brisbane.
After a quick google I've found you something to look forward to! At 2200 local time tonight Brisbane had an apparent /feels like temperature of 30 degrees.
(27 deg actual with 80% humidty)
Good luck with the move Pieter, and hope you enjoy Brissie, although not too much that you forget us all.
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
so when we play the reds BBQ at your place
All the best Pieter. WA rugby's loss. Ironic that after 10 years we haven't actually met in person, even though I'm pretty sure you live(d) close to me in Ellenbrook. Can't be too many other ex-saffa Force supporters who live in Ellenbrook..apart from Tazz of course.
Why the decision to move if I may ask?
Don't worry peter, we may not all agree with your decision to support the Reds, but I'm sure we'll all respect it.
I guess now you'll be spending all your online energy on the vibrant and long-lived Reds supporter site now.
Oh, wait!!!
