Terrible news. Sounds like he may have taken his own life. Devastating.

Stunned and shocked by the news.
Why do you say he may have taken his own life?
Fox Sports is reporting - no suspicious circumstances.

Could be he had an illness but had kept it quiet ie Bowie and others
had a link to beyond blue at the end of the article
Shit - then doubly shocking for family
Very sad.
So young and so much ahead of him.
Yes, it was the references to the various suicide helplines and mental health organisations at the end of the article that made me think he perhaps took his own life. So terribly tragic, especially for his wife and two young boys.

Very sad news especially for family
Gutted.
He was respected, fearless, talented, intelligent and humble. With Lauaki, Joost, Jono all up there, I guess a formidable team is growing.
one of the few players that was a Springbok and a Wallaby a great player at peace to young so sorry for the family

Paul Murray on SkyNews - A really interesting perspective on the tragic circumstances of Vickerman's death and the media taking responsibility for the role they can play in helping to address mental health issues and maybe aid in getting rid of the stigma assosicated with it. He has a really valid point about the support network maybe not being as great when players retire & probably need it the most.
