If Australian Rugby Union boss Bill Pulver and members of the SANZAAR board were coaching a Super rugby team they would be looking for new jobs by now.
When a club, or any other professional organisation, does not perform or bring results those in charge come into the crosshairs.
It is eight months since an independent review suggested changes to Super Rugby yet these guardians of the game have failed to produce a formula for the future.
The season is now four rounds old and still they dither.
If a coach had waited until the season was under way before implementing his game plan he would have been unceremoniously dumped.
SANZAAR has dragged Super Rugby, and in particular the Australian contingent, into a state of turmoil.
The mess should have been fixed in the off-season, instead the Rebels, Brumbies and Force (which is now selling shares to fans), all concerned about their survival, have been treated poorly.
It was not, after all, those teams that wanted the expansion that has produced the shambles.
