Western Force coach Tim Sampson says flanker Chris Alcock should be a bolter for Australia’s November tour of Europe.
Alcock, who was one of the first players to re-sign with the reborn Force, had an excellent World Series Rugby campaign and has taken his form into the National Rugby Championship.
He was outstanding in the opening NRC win over Brisbane City and was player of the round in last Sunday’s victory over NSW Country Eagles.
He outshone Eagles No.7 Will Miller, who was recently called into a Wallabies camp, with impressive statistics of a try, a try assist, 77-run metres, five tackle busts, three line-breaks, 19 tackles, and four turnovers.
Sampson said Alcock, who has been a menace at the breakdown and made good run metres, should be on the radar of Wallabies coach Michael Cheika.
“You can’t keep ignoring a bloke like Chris Alcock. He’s in the prime of his career and he would be worthy of recognition,” Sampson said.
