How come the Force still get big crowds despite a crap season last year and how we keep getting told Perth is an AFL hotspot and no other sport has any right here?
Im curious.
because we have waited so long for a team. and our team even though our win loss ratio isnt the best we still put up a fight in all our games. i dont think i watched a game where the force simply gave up. and we are passionate wen it comes to our rugby![]()
Because rugby fans aren't fickle beasts who only support "their" team when they're winning. There is a large proportion of the Perth population that are passionate about their rugby but have never had a professional team to support. Now we do, we will be there with them through thick and thin, enjoying their victories, feeling pain at their defeats and generally enjoying the bond & mateship that exists from having played or being involved with probably the most perfect form of teamsport.Originally Posted by KalgoorlieRed

What was the official attendance...anyone know.
I thought I heard someone say around 26,000, is that correct?
Have just sent a query to RWA, hope to get feedback soon Lock.
It certainly looked more than that on TV.

yeah...i heard that too and thought it was more...
I think if it was then its our lowest crowd?
though I did hear the leewin concert took a few and others trying to keep sober for the later night 6N games....and it was bloody hot to boot..just as easy to stay home in a/c or watch at the bar..
I heard Simply Red were in town... You just can't compete with that.
crowd numbers was 25500 odd

A lot of walkins would have stayed away due to the forecast thunderstorms also...
I heard an official tally of 25000 and something...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Straight from our good friend Crispin
"The official attendance figure was 25,523 on Saturday night, which we're
pretty happy with given that the Leeuwin concert was on that same
evening."
On top of the above reasons, although probably of less impact, the Perth City Muster was also on that night too.

Down 5,181 on the Highlanders.
The Bulls (23,392) and Stormers (24,507) were both lower than that last year and still leaves us with a rolling average of 28,347 since the inaugural match.
Now that we are into the Kiwi and Australian matches I'm sure the crowds will grow.
All respect to the Lions but I think the coming matches will have more drawing power.

yeah.. though there are a lot of expat south africans in perth .. will be interesting to see how the numbers go. I hope not a slow downward trend with all the stadium issues going around.
