"As struggling crowds at the Nines put an end to talk about a potential franchise in Perth, the NRL are ready to create a second Brisbane team in 2023 ..." The Daily Telegraph.
Discuss.
Interesting spin, given it seems there is little interest even within the Mungo diehards for the tournament anyway

If their using the 10k crowd on a 40 degree day at a ground where the main stand faces the setting sun with a kick off of 4pm on a work day as a reason to kill of a Perth bid, I suspect they were never serious about a Perth side.
The 9's has faced declining crowds since its debut in Auckland where it got 90k through the gates across the weekend. In fact I think the Perth crowd was on par with what they got at BankWest Stadium for the World 9's last October.
Bloody mungos
You'll be Shastised for having that attitude, Gerry.
