I hope all this talk of avoiding mass gatherings doesn't effect the match tommorow!!

The NRL is potentially going to lock fans out from today, which is a shame for Cowboys fans given it's the debut of the shiny new stadium in Townsville.
That will depend on how many Sea of Blue are in the "most at risk" category. They would be pretty foolish to attend mass gatherings.
The question of lock out games might be a moot point soon anyway. Say a player from one of the NRL teams who played last night tests positive in the next week. His whole team and the opposition plus match officials are quarantined for two weeks. At least four matches over that period will be cancelled. And on it goes. Football matches are the least concern ATM.

My bet is they will go ahead with tomorrow’s games as the situation is not too bad in Perth ATM. Their next home game in a month’s time is more doubtful I would say.
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
I'd bet that way as well.
Recent update is that the game in Townsville will go ahead with open gates but the NRL is also apparently preparing to suspend it's season on Monday. There was also talk on 6PR last night that the AFL is going to postpone the start of it's season next week.
Unfortunately it's only a matter of time given the cancellations of sporting events over the past 24-48 hours.
Just saw on another website that both the State and Federal Governments are going to release advice to cancel all public gatherings of 500 people or more.
Oh no this is so sad.. Was so looking forward to the match..
This is ridiculous.
Theres 9 people or so in the whole state that apprently have it.
Why dont they cancel the gym too whilst we are at it.
Pretty sure there is more than 500 people on a local rugby saturday too, what cancel them.
How about we cancel schools, work, what about we just cancel life itself and stay hidden away in our basements with thousands of rolls of toilet paper to avoid the corona armegeddon.
The world has gone batshit insane, thanks media.
Ohh they cancelled the crab festival too.. lol.
To be fair it's pretty easy to catch crabs in Mandurah...
I split this off to it's won thread...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Are they cancelling crowds to super rugby games or is there still a semblence of common sense in the SANZAAR game.
I would much rather take the risk than be locked up like a caged animal to avoid a virus that has less chance of knocking me over than my local bus driver.
