Have just listened to G&GR's Podcast 327 entitled The Last Dance.
This had the Matt & Hugh (Matt Rowley and Hugh Cavill - co-founders of G&GR) and Rugby Reg talking.
They announced:
1. This was the last podcast "until the Wallabies won back the Bledisloe Cup"; and
2. They would be progressively winding back the G&GR site.
It's been obvious for some time that, after 11 years, that Matt and Hugh have been losing interest and have been leaving most of the running of the site to Nick Wasiliev and, to a lesser extent, Rugby Reg (Reg Roberts) and stalwarts such as Sully (Shane Sullivan) - Qld Reds supporter.
As much as we can be critical about G&GR's lack of support for/interest in the Western Force - something they even joked about on the podcast tonight - it still provided a forum for keeping the East Coast informed of what was happening in the West and particularly Western Force/Global Rapid Rugby/Perth Spirit/RugbyWA.
We always had the freedom to create new threads and discuss matters related to the above.
In the past some of us were provided with editorial privileges.
We certainly do not enjoy the same freedoms on The Roar - which has even less interest in rugby west of Eastwood RUFC.
As much as some of has troubles with some RG&Gers it was still a very worthwhile forum and it will be missed.

Bit sad if GAGR is on its way out. But, there was generally no new breaking rugby stories on GAGR, that I had not read elsewhere already. So I find myself going onto GAGR, maybe once a week. Where as I come on to TWF every day, as also to ROAR most days, to catch up on the latest stories, gossip, scandal and opinions.
we haven't had much scandal and gossip on here for a while,we need posters like rumour monger back
Is it because Kearnsy's no longer going to be on the air? A bit of an extreme reaction...
last I heard that they were considering removing the straightjacket, but wiser heads prevailed
He's going to be upset then. The home games in rounds 4 (Rebels) and 10 (Reds) are both on Friday. The home game in round 9 (Waratahs) is on a Saturday. The home game in round 1 (Brumbies) could be interesting - https://www.westernforce.com.au/fixtures/ says it'll be Wednesday 19th February, and Wikipedia says it's on Saturday 20th February. I *think* it's Friday 19th February (they promised a double-header to start the season), but I'm open to a Wednesday night game, if required.

Maybe he got sick of the bullying. Can't imagine why.
Nor can I, considering (my recollection is) he bullied as often as he was bullied.
