Super Rugby Pacific: Chiefs to field team against the Western Force despite Covid-19 outbreak
The Chiefs host the Western Force in Hamilton this weekend and McMillian is confident his team will field a side despite eight or nine players contracting the virus.
“I’m not at liberty to point out individuals but there is definitely a second wave coming through our environment that’s having significant impact on availability and selection. That’s players and management. And just to be clear, it’s also all of those that haven’t previously been infected,” McMillian told NZME.
“We, like most teams, have had a good portion of our squad that got it early on in the season and another 10 or 12 that for one reason or another just didn’t seem to pick it up when everyone else did.
There’s now a number that have, I think we’re probably seeing similar things happen in the community.
“It is what it is. It presents another challenge. We just need to embrace it and move forward.”

Going to be a tough week with three games.
Going to be very hard without an out and out jackeler in the loose forwards, only locks on the bench and lock at eigthman, and no Manasa!
I assume Kunzele out with HIA protocols, so I do not mind Reesjan moving one out, give him a bit more time and space to develop.

Size-wise, Pugh is more in the backrower build than a lock. He'll do fine at 8. 5 line-out jumpers is interesting.

Gonna be a lot of traffic running at the 10/12 channel I think!
Surprised they didn't give Kahui the start against his old side
Personally I think Koteka and Callan have been 2 of our best this year so will struggle without them
Chiefs team looks pretty close to full strength despite their apparent COVID cases. Think it's going to be another painful game to watch.
Chiefs Kaleb Trask, Emoni Narawa, Alex Nankivell, Quinn Tupaea, Chase Tiatia, Bryn Gatland, Brad Weber (co-c); Luke Jacobson, Sam Cane (co-c), Pita Gus Sowakula, Tupou Vaa’i, Josh Lord, Angus Ta’avao, Bradley Slater, Aidan Ross.
Reserves: Samisoni Taukei’aho, Josh Bartlett, George Dyer, Samipeni Finau, Mitch Brown, Kaylum Boshier, Xavier Roe, Rameka Poihipi.
Prior had given a lot to the force but I think he has had his time, he's been very poor
What the hell is wrong with the Force scrum?
Finally, beautiful try to Pulu
