I heard today that the local competition is to be reduced to eleven teams this year with a further reduction to ten teams the following season.
Incredible news, after the bullshit expansion to fourteen teams forced on the competition with much fanfare by RugbyWA in recent years.
Incredible, and scarcely believable, given that RugbyWA never make mistakes or acknowledge them.
Westieman, what's your involvement in this imbroglio? You are usually in the midst of everything, so you must know something.
RugbyWA Competition update
RugbyWA is set to go through one of the biggest competition shake-up's as the game celebrates 130 years in the State.
It will see one FMG Premier Grade club drop to the second-tier competition at the completion of the 2023 regular season, with promotion and relegation expected to be introduced at the end of the following year.

I really don't give one ,lost interest
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
It'll be an interesting relegation battle this year, the club with the least points from 1st, 2nds and 3rds will drop down. Can't see it being anyone outside of Kala, Wanneroo or Lions.
And once down what chance will a club have of getting back up when they are reduced to just two sides, one of them effectively golden oldie community standard.
But wait there's more.
I heard clubs had to have juniors to qualify for the Prem's and judging by last year that means UWA should be out already doesn't it?

Nah, if it suits RugbyWA's purposes they'll just redefine "juniors" as under 80's.
Very creative in interpreting constitutions and rules are these RugbyWA types. It's called performative art.
For what it's worth Sydney Subbies Rugby have insisted that Clubs have a Colts team or teams depending on the Grade.
for example, Shute Shield Clubs must have 3 Colts Teams.
Division 3 (my club) is one Colts team.
A lot of Clubs have struggled with this decree - especially Post Covid.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
