Just wanted to drop a quick line...I'm from around the world in Florence, Arizona U.S.A. I'm relatively new to the rugby community (I've been following the game for about the past 8 months). My local team that I cheer for is the Red Mtn. Warthogs (they're undefeated this year and should take the state and regional titles again this year, provided they stay healthy). Then it will be off to nationals.
I just wanted to say that I've been impressed overall with the play of the Force...they just don't seem to give up and judging by the response of you local fans over their first home win...neither do you all. I'm sorry that this is the only way that I can support this team at the moment, I'm hoping one day to make the trip to your country and see the sights and watch a few games.
God bless and good luck this week!
Steve
Thanks Mate. What a nice message!
Good to have you along mate, welcome to all our US viewers, especially Larry from New Jersey, long time member...Hope it ain't to cold in Arizona, and If you make the trip down under drop us a line and we will look into putting you up for a few nights while you're in Perth....Cheers buddy
Proudly bought to you by a brewery somewhere....
G'day Steve - Welcome aboard! How'd you discover Rugby in the US?
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Coach,
I'd seen a match or two on a national sports network here in the U.S. (ESPN) but then I lost track of the sport for a few years. After that, I was on the YouTube website and saw some highlights from a rugby match. From there, I just started to follow the sport and read all that I could get my hands on about this great game.
Once I was hooked, I added a sports channel to my satellite TV service called Setanta Sports and that has a lot of coverage of the S14, 6 Nations, and it will also have the Tri-Nations, World Cup and some other tournaments from down under.
Well, I have to get to bed...I work the graveyard shift for the local Police Department here as an emergency operator and a police/fire dispatcher. Gotta get some rest.
Take care and God bless.
Steve
Welcome Steve......it's great to see how rugby reaches across the world. Hope you'll be watching us hammer the Qld Reds on Friday night @ Subi Oval!!!
CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
Welcome Steve! Great to have another international member of TWF![]()
Welcome GB!
I'm pretty much clueless about the sport but I continue to learn from watching a few games and reading on this site. Don't be afraid to ask any questions, it's a great crew here and they are happy to answer any questions. If you need help in figuring out what some of their comments mean let me know. Don't feel bad when they call you a Seppo, it could be worse you could be a Pom.
Don't forget to spend your your v$ in the TAB. The TWF bookie is a kind and generous fellow who usually has great odds.
FrontRow, it's very hot where he's at in Arizona. In the summer hotter than Perth I think.
Welcome aboard mate.
Lesson One.
"Septic Tank" means "Yank"....term of endearment.......except not when used for Larry.![]()
Just happy to be here
ahh missed this thread - now I know how you found us!![]()
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
I forgot it was spring over there, so it must be warming up...Don't think i know exactly what Arizona is like temp wise, but i work in a place where the temperature hasn't dropped below 40'celcius in almost 130 days, till last weekend when a cyclone blew half of the area away...Now its 80% plus humidity and temp still around 30'celcius plus...Talk about extremes...Probably hotter than Perth in Arizona though, i agree...Originally Posted by LarryNJ
