Key All Blacks out injured
Monday, April 2, 2007
Injuries to All Blacks Luke McAlister and Chris Jack may see them missing game time for a number of weeks.
Blues midfielder McAlister is booked for surgery today on a fractured cheekbone while Crusaders' Test lock Jack faces an anxious wait for results on his damaged knee.
McAlister was injured making a tackle in the win over the Chiefs while Jack's left knee took the brunt of falling bodies in victory over the Waratahs, both on Saturday.
X-rays confirmed McAlister had cracked his left cheekbone.
It is the second serious facial injury for McAlister after he missed a month last season with a broken jaw.
Blues coach David Nucifora said "if things pan out as we expect, he is probably out for three or four weeks".
Jack was to undergo a scan in Christchurch today on his left knee.
