A way back in the late 1800's there was a famous game played between the english and Scotland. It had been raining, snowing and blowing a gale the whole game. In the last minute of the game when the score was drawn at 10 a piece the Mighty McTavish, a fierce 5 foot nothing highlander prop, was rucking for the ball with 7 englishmen on top of him (the rules were not as clearly defined back in those days). All of a sudden the 7 englishmen were thrown into the air and up popped Mighty McTavish with the ball in arms running for the line. He scored the try, the whistle blew for full time and the crowd went wild…..a great victory for Scotland.
A few days later Mighty McTavish was being interviewed by the Scotsman newspaper and he was asked to explain what happened in that last ruck of the game. He looked the journalist in the eye and said "Aye, I thought it was all over when I had 7 of the bastards on top of me trying to rug the ball from my arms. It was nearly lost when all of a sudden I saw the biggest pair of nuts I'd seen in my life right in front of my eyes. So, I thought to hell with it and took a bite oh them. Next thing I knew I’m up on my feet with the ball in my hands running for the line……it’s amazing the strength you get from biting your own balls.”
