i am not aware of anything being mentioned in the West Australian (local newspaper for the non-sandgropers). As i dont get to see it.. Has there been any mention of a team song for The Force.
And what about other traditions that a new club needs to think about that other clubs have had 100+ years to create and build on.
Any thoughts...............
And while we are at it - how about traditions for us here in our little unauthorised part of the universe.
A chat the day after game - for disection
A meeting before the game for those members of ours who can go to the game
the list goes on..............

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Yeh or perhaps a Force Bar as I suggested in the Public Bar forum.
I'm sure john mitchell will find a local he likes sooner or later and have some 'team bonding' sessions![]()
What we need is a rat in the ranks, an insider, a mole! Any passers by here care to drop me an anonymous word ?![]()

A "tradition" that we should employ is that win, lose or draw, rain hail or shine, no one leaves their seat from early in the second half until the very last player has left the pitch.
I'm as guilty as the next bloke for having a quick run to the dunny (which is regretable) or a quick run to the bar (which is a duty!) in the second half but nothing &&$%@!* s me more than spectators who leave games early. It doesn't happen so much in Rugby but is pretty common in AFL.
I feel it show a total disrespect for the players who you are supposedly supporting and, if it's because we are getting thrashed, it is just plain bad manners not to acknowldege the better opposition.
Suck it up as they say, the pain of defeat makes the joy of victory all the sweeter.
Fair weather fans are fleas looking for a dog and any who are found should be kicked out of any supporters forum such as this one in my humble ranting opinion!
While I'm up here on my substantial soapbox, I would also like to give voice to my pet favourite at the moment "Rugby Supporters v Rugby Fans"! If you are prepared to fork out your hard earned to be a member of a club, surely you are there to SUPPORT that team, not just cheer success?!
I would hope all contributors to this forum are supporters and if you can't work out the difference then I would suggest that you are probably a fan!
If you're not already, get rugby "educated", learn the rules, get to know the squad and the players strengths and weaknesses, learn who the opposition are. I assure you that it will be a far more rewarding experience.
With that said, I am pleased to observe that every year the Wallabies crowd at Subiaco appear to be, on average, getting a better understanding of the game and you don't seem to hear as many "stupid" (I use that word loosely, we all want the game to grow and be understood, just perhaps not in the middle of a seven phase rolling maul!) questions in the background.
Well, dunno about two bob, I'd reckon that's about forty quids worth but that's my thoughts on crowds at the moment.
my pet hate is 'booing' the opposition (or god forbid, your own team!) to that list you got goin' there Burgs? We could even add the definitive list of do's / dont's to the rules everyone has to agree to to become a member of TWF![]()
1. Thou shalt not leave a game before the last Force player leaves the paddock.
2. Thou shalt not "BOO" at anything other than foul play.
3. ....
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Too right
I think at the top of the list is booing. Shows a real lot of sportmanship does that behaviour. I know this is getting off the thread a bit, but one of the things I really like about our game is the manner in which it is played.
Hard but fair, no gobbing off at the ref (AFL makes me spew about this) and everyone goes and haves a beer after the game.
Just back to traditions. If Subiaco doesn't sort itself out for rugby the main traditions that we will be known for is huge queues at the bar, matched only by the longer queues at the toilets.
... on the 6th day God played rugby and on the 7th day he rested, because he was sore and a little hungover.
One of the great traditions I love is at Lansdown Road (Ireland), i think - i could be wrong about the location. when some one is lining up for a penalty kick, conversion. Home team or visitors, the crowd is absolutely silent. Now to me, that is class.
A great thing that happened in Geraldton in the mid 80's was for the local team in the state basketball competition was when ever the opposition was lining up for free throws, the crowd would yell out what the player was doing ie; the player bounced the ball. so the crowed yelled "bounce" so i routine would go a long the lines of bounce the ball twice then shoot the ball. so the crowed would be yelling out, "bounce, bounce, shooooooot" and if they missed which they quite often did because it was so unusual "oh sh*t" and then laughter. Funny as hell.

No.8, you have been just itiching to throw in those Star Wars jokes since these forums started up. I cant believe i have to be subject to them again.
Perhaps this thread could go off on a tangent and we could discuss everyones favorite Rugby Songs.
I find it difficult to pick between the "Warriors song" or what i call the engineers songs which i can never remember the tho one line is "round and round goes the wheels of steel"
But i will always have a soft spot in my heart for the song of the Katherine (NT) Lions Rugby Union Football Club. which i am happy to provide the words for if you like.

Your right TCIE, I should not have brought up Stars Wars, mind you Luke Skywalker would have made a winger!
Getting back to the song, I reckon we should have a song that is derived from something like the "Holy Grail" -
Woke up this morning from the strangest dream
I was in the biggest Rugby club the world had ever seen
We were marching as one
On the road to the Super 14 grail
Some teams were seeking victory and some we're seeking glory
Its a short song but one hell of a story
When you they spent they season trying to get their hands
On the Super 14 grail
Well you've heard about those great crusaders
We run into them in round 11, it's said
Yeah we'll raise highest score the comp has ever seen
And we'll win that Super 14 grail
All the rivals will be shattered, they'll be left in our dust
We'll be so far ahead, they will never know what hit them
There'll be nobody left but us
As we take that Super 14 grail
We will be full of beers
And we'll be eating all the pies
And those big South African Stormers, they'll be watching all our tries
And you know what they say, yeah, nobody deserves to beat you guys
You know, they've been searching for the best way
To support Australian Rugby of today
It's had it's highs and It's had it's low
But they have somewhere else to go
They have somewhere else to go
And we'll have followed the Force
God knows where they'll be
But they won't be standing alone
When all the other teams have been and gone
We'll still be there
We'll be the winners of that Super 14 grail
oh yeah we'll be in the winners of that Super 14 grail..... 8)
Brother Gallagher I hear you
