Doubt over Waugh return
By Jon Geddes
April 30, 2007
INSPIRATIONAL skipper Phil Waugh's much-anticipated return to the field for the New South Wales Waratahs this weekend is in doubt.
NSW coach Ewen McKenzie will get a medical update on the Wallabies back rower today, but revealed he may not make his comeback against the Hurricanes on Saturday.
"If I ask him he will want to have a crack, but Phil hasn't really trained much with the team," McKenzie said.
"I just have to make a call about whether there is any value in playing him off the bench for half a game in the last game and if it will do anyone any good.
"He'll play well technically, but coming in a bit cold on what we have been doing for the last period of time."
McKenzie faces a dilemma this week with his three halfbacks Josh Holmes, Brett Sheehan and Josh Valentine all available, meaning one of the trio is set to miss the squad.
"Bloody oath we did!"

Don't rush him, let him get time for Aus A...
