RugbyWA has announced that the Home Building Society Competition First Grade and U19 finals will be held at Members Equity Stadium around ET Perth Spirit fixtures on September 8 and 15.
The Preliminary Finals will be played immediately before and after the ET Perth Spirit’s game against the Melbourne Rebels on Saturday 8 September, with the same scheduling for the Grand Finals the following weekend.
RugbyWA Community Rugby Manager Mitch Hardy said the revised finals fixtures were a great opportunity to showcase the WA club competition around the Mazda Australian Rugby Championship games.
”This is a fantastic step towards highlighting club rugby here in Perth,” Hardy said.
“For the first time our club finals will be played in a top class stadium with a big crowd in attendance to support not only the ET Perth Spirit but also the best clubs in Perth in the U19 and First Grade competitions.”
The schedule of matches will be as follows:
Saturday 8 September
11.10am: U19 Division 1 Preliminary Final.
1.00pm: ET Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rebels.
3.15pm: First Grade Preliminary Final.
Saturday 15 September
11.10am: U19 Division 1 Grand Final.
1.00pm: ET Perth Spirit v East Coast Aces.
3.15pm: First Grade Grand Final
General Admission tickets to each of the days are great value at just $20, with kids aged 15 and under free (maximum four kids per adult ticket purchased).

They've only done this as they heard a hoard of TWF members we're going to take over the RugbyWA members tent on Grand Final day!
Seems like a good idea though - although it will make for a LONG day for smaller kids..
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Yes a very long day for littles.
Still its included in the price so value for money - and should ensure a larger crowd for finals.
Not sure about having the Spirt game in the middle![]()
If thats the Premium draw card you'd imagine it would be at the top of the bill with the finals games as awarm up.
I reckon a lot of people will up stumps after the Spirit game. Still, its an idea worth trying.
Hope they play all the finals at ME
sounds like a fantastic idea, will hopefully boost the profile of w.a rugby!! would be a good day of rugby, especially if you happen to be involved in any of the fixtures...
Sounds like a good concept, i can't even remember the last time i watched a club rugby game!!
Couple of points:
- Joondalup have just hit the top of the Division 1 colts table - how good would is that the only so called "Junior" Rugby clubs colt's at members equity prior to the Spirit. Is there a swelling head smilie?
- As a member of RugbyWA (not the Western Force) I get free admission into the Home Building Society finals, so do I get free entry to Members Equity?
- Will there be RugbyWA members tent to hijack?
Brother Gallagher I hear you
I want answers for 2 and 3!!!
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
... and to complicate matters, if local referees are being appointed to the Spirit game (and this would mean refs ranked #1 - in the middle - and 2 & 3 - touch judges) then whom will referee the 1st grade prelim and grand final?
I bet Mitch didn't think of that
I am planning to offer to help out by refereeing both. I'm that kind of guy...
But are you that kind of ref?![]()
Hmm so every time they stop for a penalty - will you get em to sign your shirt ?Originally Posted by Ecky
Wow what a privilege - on the serious side wouldn't you need to do a course on the new rules or something ?
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
Yes, well, that's where my cunning plan falls down a bit; the top 3 guys have done that course for the modified laws. I haven't.Originally Posted by Thequeerone

You're gonna have to give us a big wave.......first time a ref will be getting a standing ovation I suspect.![]()
Just happy to be here
How about some cheerleaders just for the ref?!
Now that would definitely be a first....Originally Posted by JediKnight
