Top Four Showdown In Semi-Final Bonanza
In an action-packed weekend at Rugby Park, minor premier Nedlands will take on runner-up Palmyra in the major semi-final on Saturday, while third and fourth-placed teams Kalamunda and Perth-Bayswater do battle in the minor semi-final on Sunday.
Great balanced write up by Rick Boyd.
The regular upbraidings he has received on this site for his more truculant efforts have made him a far better reporter. I must, modestly, personally take a lot of credit for that.
No, seriously Rick, thank you for what you have done in promoting and reporting rugby throughout what has been (and will continue to be) a
long season.
As far as I am concerned you have been ahead of the (rat) pack by a country mile.
looks like 2 great games, i would tip nedlands and bayswater.
unlucky roodogs just missed out good season though, they will be there next year.![]()
Agree with FS appreciate your articles and input - How and ever there is another game at Rugby Park on Sunday - possibly not quite in the same league as a Neddies Pally clash - but certainly an occasion for the idiots involved
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
Nedlands has managed to make the finals for all 7 of its senior sides:1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,colts div 1,colts div 2
how far they get remains to be seen, but a superb effort, especially the 4th grade ,which finished 3rd after not entering a team until round 4!
Unfortunately wont see how they go because we are off on the big silver bird on Sat
Hey BDG, by any chance, did you ring in to ABC radio this afternoon giving your name as Adrian? The guy I heard fitted my perception of you. No. I'm not taking the piss, he was perfectly sensible. Sometimes these perceptions get into your head. Can't explain why.
As asked in the earlier thread, any/how many of you are going to the Saturday matches at Perry Lakes?
Unless something unexpected pops up then I'll be there.
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
I'll be there Burgs. Look out for a refined, extremely well dressed man of imposing appearance with nothing but good things to say about the referee.
That'll be his father.
You'll find me by checking out the source of the referee abuse.
I'll make a point of looking out for you. Bring your wallet.
Hahaha, I'll be the big boofy bloke potentially "guarding" our esteemed vBookie as he tries to take a few sly vWagers on track
Either that or look for the TWF jersey![]()

Thanks Frank. Good luck to Paly. A damn shame you can't have big Ratu ripping up the sideline like a runaway semi. Hopefully the comps will be better organised in future.
It's just two short years ago that anyone claiming Palmyra, Kalamunda and Perth-Baywater would contest a finals series with Nedlands would have been met with derisive laughter.
I think it's the greatest thing to happen to WA rugby in a long time and if Neddies get up and win on the day, good on them, but it would be no bad thing for the flag to be shared around a bit.
