Last Friday I left work early picked up GDDRP and we headed to Philadelphia to meet our own Jedi. We met at Fado's Irish Pub for the SA/Pom match. Jedi secured great front row seats for us. For some strange reason I still can't figure out GDDRP immediately started running her hands all over Jedi. There was a decent crowd of mostly SA fans. I normally don't drink Guiness but Jedi said it was made in Ireland unlike most that is made locally. I must say that was the best Guiness that I've ever tasted, after a long week at work they were going down very easy. GDDRP wasn't into the Guiness so she had a couple of other pints that Jedi recommended.
After watching the Poms get their asses whipped we walked a few blocks to El Vez for some Mexican beers, Margarita’s, chips & guacamole. The drinks were good and the service was great. Especially when the beer you ordered was down at the bottom of the cooler! We had a great time drinking, munching and meeting people. GDDRP invited some guy to join us for some sushi so across the street we go.
EL VEZ BAR
Raw was very crowded. Initially we were told there was no tables available since we didn't have reservations. I took out my camera and started randomly snapping pictures.
This Bitch had reservations!
We told the manager that we were from sushi.com. I'm not sure if she believed us or simply wanted us to stop making a scene but we quickly were shown to a booth and served a beer!
Our Lovely Waitress
We had some great sushi
and some very good 9% Japanese beers.
By this time the effects of 7 or 8 hours of drinking were kicking in. As we walked up to Tria a cool little wine & beer bar we made calls to Coach and TEF. I’m not sure of what we talked about but I know I was on the phone with them.
Our bartender was related to Coach
Jedi was too wasted
to notice the hot girls sitting next to him
Jedi's world was just a blurr
The next morning I was sorry we did but Jedi and I split a bottle of wine.
We than walked up to Jedi’s hotel and he presented me with 2 great bottles of the soon to be Award Winning Hunter View Shiraz 2006! Thanks again we’re very much looking forward to drinking them. I also received a great package from The Western Force. It included a nice little cooler, a couple of hats, beer holder, & flags. I’ll certainly now be pimping the Force all over the US!
Finally Jedi made sure that he carried out the orders from Coach, although I think he went a little over board!
It was a great evening. GDDRP & I had a wonderful time with Jedi. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it back the next morning to watch the Wallabies game. Julian (my youngest son) had his first game of the season and I was feeling a bit dazed. We are anxiously awaiting Jedi's next trip to the US. I'm guessing it may be to Chicago! If anyone else is ever on the east coast of the US we'd love to get together.
