Hey guys, Possible Thunderstorms are predicted this Friday Night (I am undercover, so won't effect me) what is the policy in regards to whether or not there is lightning strikes?
Does the game stop play?
What is the policy if Lightning comes close to the stadium?
Thanks very much for any help.
There is nothing specific in the IRB's Laws of Rugby.
There maybe an Australian Rugby Union specfic policy on it tho

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Interesting, because I thought all codes would have updated their policy, after a soccer game in South Africa had about 3 players struck by lightning during a soccer game.
AFL was criticised for not calling the players off the ground when a Thunderstorm was periously close to Telstra Stadium for a Swans v Eagles final a few years back, with lightning strikes very close to the stadium
Lets hope nothing happens, but its a worry that they have no policy.
I think we are pretty safe given that it is a weather forecast - since when do they get the timing right![]()

Actually when caught in a lighting storm you SHOULD hold your one iron direct to sky, because everyone knows that not even the almighty can hit a one iron!!!Originally Posted by The EnForcer
