Turinui Feeling Gold
Morgan Turinui was always going to feature in the World Cup in France, but the capacity in which he's going has changed slightly. The 25 year old had planned to head over to support the Wallabies as a spectator, but he's been summoned to ditch the pom poms, and trade them for something much more attractive- the Wallaby gold. The Sydney Fleet centre has become the second ARC player to earn a call up to the Wallabies squad, coming in to cover for the injury to number 8 David Lyons. Turinui's selection follows that of Perth Spirit fullback Cameron Shepherd, who joined the squad a few weeks ago as a replacement for Mark Gerrard.
Again, we see the value of the ARC. young guys trying hard to impress, getting noticed, and called upon.
The ARC has done a good job in its first season. Well done Morgan - give 'em hell.
I take exception to the part of the article that claims that Sheps was selected over Turner because the selectors wanted experience over youth and enthusiasm. Cam is better than Lachie there is no two ways about it. What kind of vOdds can you offer me on betting that Turner isn't that crash hot next year? I'd put money on him scoring 2 tries or less all season.
