RugbyWA Level 2 Coaching Course Brings Out The Big Guns

RugbyWA's Level 2 coaching course has brought out the stars, with three current Emirates Western Force players among the 19 coaches from the WA rugby community who attended the three day course held at Rugby Park on 2-4 November.

Scott Fava, AJ Whalley and Richard Brown were joined by former teammate and current RugbyWA Board member, John Welborn, and 15 fellow Level 1 coaches in attending the intense three day course to up their coaching accreditation.

RugbyWA's Coach Eduaction Manager, Matt Tink, said the professional players gave their colleagues valuable insight into the Super 14 program and were generous with their knowledge.

"Having the players in the group added plenty of upside for the other participants. On the flip side, it was great to see the players take a genuine interest in community rugby in Perth," Tink said.

"It was a very intense 3 days, however the group as a whole were great to work with."

Other coaches to present to the group included Emirates Western Force assistant coaches John Mulvihill and Tom Fearn, as well as Junior Elite Coach Dwayne Nestor, former RugbyWA Coach Education Manager Brendan Loag, and current head of Community Rugby Mitch Hardy.

For those coaches interested, the next Level 2 coaching course will be run on 15-17 Feb 2008. Contact Matt Tink at matt.tink@rugbywa.com.au for details.
