Rugby WA is suing former chief financial officer David Round over suspicions he was leaking confidential information that led to an ARU investigation into the Western Force's contracting procedures and a $150,000 fine.
``It is rather curious that (the former employee) should wait seven months until our litigation before making this baseless claim,'' O'Meara said.

That'll look good on the resume

He could always get a job with Fountain or Kraft.

I highly doubt its about the money Larry. Like I said before I agree that RugbyWA would hardly pursue this and drag all these issues up again without a very strong basis for doing so. The impression I get is that they have some pretty strong evidence against David and with the ARU checking in on player contracts and the audit due in mid-Dec this is a pretty good avenue to go down in order to detract attention from any wrongdoings. This was not something that was going to stay dead and buried I'm quite sure of that. The whistleblowers were certainly not going to let the matter rest because the ARU slapped a $150 000 fine on RugbyWA. Like we discussed at the time, that was pathetic. It's def a case of timing in my opinion and I think this time, RugbyWA is bringing it out on their terms which in the long term will save them from the bad publicity of being 'caught' out again....or at least accused again...
"Remember lads, rugby is a team game; all 14 of you make sure you pass the ball to Giteau."
Has anyone looked at the timing of those recent "Giteau wants to move back East" stories (just before WF memberships opened again). I wonder if there's any link....
