As if it couldn't get any worse, the news that Ulster stalwart Tommy Bowe has signed a two year deal with Ospreys was announced today, Roger Wilson has been confirmed as moving to Northampton, McMillan is believed tobe moving to Harlequins and Neil Best looks to following in the same vein to Northampton, Ulster's woes couldn't get any worse, or can they???
Ulster Rugby CEO Mike Reid said, "We wish Tommy much success in this new phase of his career, we would have hoped for Tommy to remain with us and trust he remembers the door is always open for a return”
The reaction of the fanbase was typical, everyone displaying regret at this decision, but with some understanding of Bowe's plight, the announcement coming short on the heels of Eddie O'Sullivans squad announcement for the Italy game, where Bowe was left out.
Who to blame? well the obvious one is Mike Reid, Ulster CEO; if he can't manage to hold onto our best players then who can, 2nd, the IRFU, being led by the donkey Eddie O shambles. Without his tuteledge this past year, it's a wonder Bowe has only been picked for the A team let alone the 1sts. As Irelands in-form winger, his move abroad smacks of a way ack at Eddie for not even picking him for the A team. The timing is amazing.

It is indeed a Black day for Ulster rugby.
I am truely gutted. Bowe was one of our own, and he's been let go, FAir play to him if it's the only way he can develop as a player. He's obviously been tempted by a more professional setup, as Ulster Rugby should have been able to match any monies involved. A bad time this last year, but made worse because of the ineptitude of the UR managemnet and CEO, the loss of McCall, their 'worldwide' serach for 1 man who didnt really want to come as coach, and the subsequent loss of our best players leaving us with what is in effect an academy squad... I blame the CEO.
