...so my (almost) ten-incher is good for reading sites such as TWF and news.com.au in "desktop version" rather than in "mobile version".
There's this thing you do on the tablet that is about:debug in the web address bar and then change the UAString settings. Which I have done. (Android version 4.0.3 (release5a))
So why do this website and news.com.au still prompt me?
Any geeks know of these things and the permanent solution?
Coach needs to use a cookie i think to remember your preference, it is the one thing that annoys me on twf with a tablet as well
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
Strange. Mrs Shasta's Galaxy Tab has always done the web version with no tweaking. Like either of us cold do that anyway.![]()
Works fine on my iPad
Desktop version of TWF has always worked fine on my iPad as well
so i got a new toy yesterday a new lg smart tv this thing is amazing i just posted this msg on my fav site while i have the ashes highlights on in the corner!
“Everyone knows whether it’s rugby, politics or whatever, front-rowers should rule the world, so to have a hooker at the helm makes sense,” Nathan Charles Western Force & Wallabies Hooker.
i've decided to part ways with my ipad and get a Note 10.1. only because the surface is so freaken expensive, and the apps just aren't there with microsoft as yet.
want more compatibility with movies, because i've started travelling more and more for work.
Have you already done this, or just planning to?
I (well, the boss does) have a Note 10.1, and a Sumsung Ativ Smart PC Pro (like a slate).
Both are great, and both have big pro's and cons - what you want it for?
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Am going to.
Want more accessibility to load videos and music onto.
Apple isn't known for it's sharing... :/ which makes it a pain in the arse to convert everything. I just want to download it and upload it.
And I can log into my kobo & kindle accounts on android as well as IOS.
Essentially I use it for books, movies and browsing the Internet when I'm away for a few dads at a time & too lazy to take my laptop.
Want to look at photoshop on it as well because iPhoto is useless...
The HDMI E output on the note is handy as well because all tv's in camps & hotels have inputs.
USB charging is everywhere now as well

Anyway...
Coach - what are the main pros and cons?
Posted via Mobile Device
Note - Pros: light, stylus input, Android, ~ $500
Cons: Office (Word, Excel etc.) 'compatibility' but crashes when face with big doc etc. No photoshop (you mention photoshop?) It's still just a mobile device
PC Pro - Pros: It's a PC - can run anything your desktop can run including full Office, Photoshop etc. Stylus input, Fast. You can replace your laptop/desktop with this no need for tablet and PC. USB port for peripherals
Cons: 11.6 inch screen and weight make it not quite so mobile as compared with the Note. Runs WIndows 8, so lots of programs, but 'apps' are limited. Windows 8 hybrid 'Metro Interface' and PC interface can be a pain in the arse sometimes. For example, Internet Explorer in 'tablet mode' can;t do all that IE can do in PC mode - they are ultimately 2 different programs. From $900
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Thanks coach.
I'm gonna run with the note 10.1, as soon as I get the hell out of Rockhampton and back home!
Have offloaded the iPad to a housemate which gives me a nice deposit on it
