That was probably the ARU who did that at the last bargaining negotiations as they always look at their future strategic options. Nothing to stop them from striking after Christmas as no CBA has been signed for next year.

How are the Rabble going to find room for Richie Arnold and Richard Hardwick in their so called salary cap?

I just ask that he transfer this same philosophy to the ARU Board Room to help save Australian Rugby.

The French have strikes in their DNA. When was the last proper strike in Australia? I can't recall one since Hawke and Keating were in power.

Do we know they even have a salary cap? That might be a “special” condition of their participation agreement for all we know. The ARU would have been well up for that. Any length to try and make sure their decision to keep the Rebels was the right one.

Time to get the lawyers out if that wasn't a condition of the cull. Anyone got a beeline to Hansie?

I wrote this to TWAS on The Roar yesterday after he had a go at Sittingbison and he won't go out and research the information that he told me to put up because it doesn't suit his agenda.

No need to be like that TWAS, I know it is that time where you are waiting to receive the employee of the month.

Said it so many times that I am not here to be your Harvard reference system and I am going by what’s out there. It is ok to admit that you are tied to lies in confidence or you can’t remember.

I don't recall "tosh". Does it smell like bullshit? Yeo, like...........

We're always, as a board yeo, presented with all sorts of strategic options..........
Yeo I can't recall what was discussed at that meeting, as I said. Yeo since I've been on the board, every meeting has been yeo hugely consumed by Super Rugby............
As any board would do, yeo we're always contemplating strategic options around what scenarios might emerge yeo.
......'cause it sure looks like bullshit.

P.S. You might want to inform the Hansard people of the correct contraction of "you know", when you get time Alison. I had to place some in myself as Hansard has edited out about 500 of them from Clown's testimony.

I am going to write an email to RUPA today raising these points:
    - The Rebels have been allowed to hoard players while the Brumbies and Reds lost a lock each to the Waratahs. I don't see anything about the Rebels having to let a lock to go to the Waratahs so they can sign Parling and approach Coleman and Philip.
    - Cameron Clyne completely dismissed Sen Reynolds question about the Rebels deliberately leaving squad space open for Force players. The Brumbies, Reds and Waratahs have had limited squad spaces available for sometime.
    - The treatment of Tatafu Polota Nau. The Rebels have two hookers off contract, one of them Siliva Siliva approached him while at the Brumbies with a year left on his contract there to sign a deal to join the Rebels. This was to join them at the end of that contract. It is possible they might not keep him on now it has expired.
    - The Rebels foreign player allocations need to be addressed as it is blocking opportunities for un-contracted Australian players.
    - How many games do you need to play to be regarded as a squad member (I am referring to the Rebels using Shute Shield players last year). It used to be if you were academy/hpu etc player and played a specific number of games you have to be elevated to a full contract. This was before the days of the salary cap. It still come out of your own budget and cost money.
    - It is now two days past Twiggy's deadline of the ARU having to approve the IPRC and I haven't seen anything publicised to say that they have made a decision so this leaves players in limbo.
    - The ARU stalling further over the IPRC and Force IP puts financial strain on players who have had their futures in doubt since April. When will redundancies or current contracts be paid out?
    - What were the conditions of the cull for the issues raised above.

PM the RUPA email address to me. I’ll stick my oar in the water with this issue as well. Their should be no temp foreign players allowed under the 4 team model.

"Tosh" does indeed smell like shit, but it's more like untreated human excrement.

In early Dickensian times, before the modernised sanitation of the mid-to-late 19th century, London had around 200,000 cesspits and the sewers were just covered over creeks and rivers (or, in some cases, uncovered drains). The whole town stank.

Poor scavengers used to eke out a living by climbing into these sewers and cesspits to recover discarded metal and lost valuables from amongst the raw turds and factory outflows.

These sewer-hunters were called "Toshers" and the shit they fished out to sell was called "Tosh".

Luvverly story, innit? Most people don't know the origin of the term "tosh" any more. But it's so much more, shall we say, "redolent" when you do.
