Assuming that the senate inquiry uncovers and acts on the endemic corruption of the ARU, there might be room for the IPRC to be redesigned before it kicks off.
Remember, the current model is driven by the subservient position we currently occupy. We simply HAVE to get the ARU's blessing or the comp will never fly. Once we gain more power, we can push more boundaries.
And don't forget Jono, you still have an option (should you want to) to turn up and watch a Super Rugby match......most of us don't

Somethin is telling me Jono's option like us all was removed
Twiggys in NY attempting to abolish worldwide slavery . Priorities ????
What is to stop this becoming a 4th conference eventually with the Indo Pacific, given the new draw you would need to reduce the derbys back to one game a year, but you could easily accomodate another 5 team conference and under the new format the top team can still be retained for the finals from each conference, it will mean the next 4 best placed qualify instead of the next 5. The IPRC could follow without the EARU super sides and we can use the money from the iPRC to dominate Super Rugby. Fanciful? Well we can dream cant we?
I find this article pretty interesting, a SA team joining the IPRC could be a nice option to have in the comp.

Nah, fuck em
The comp should be professional like Premier League. Man Utd etc. Get players, teams are locations not nationality. Saffer are wrong time zone, we need to go north south not the other side of Indian Ocean.
Those wankers fucked up Super, they can rot. Individual players are welcome
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
South African involvement hinges on their agreeableness. Given their history with railroading Super Rugby, I'd give them a wide berth.
Shit, even though the timezone is a massive problem and as ridiculous as this sounds, I'd be more inclined to consider Argentinian involvement, than either of our other two original SANZAAR partners when it comes to the new competition. Maybe no restrictions on Argentinians playing throughout the new comp could be given as a consideration? At least with the Argies, Hong Kong, Fiji and the rest, all they want to do is be involved with something at a higher level.
On the other hand, the ARU, SARU and NZRU have all been too self-serving in all this and let Super Rugby and southern hemisphere rugby suffer overall. Whether Twiggy and Co are any better, we'll have to wait and see; but at least it's someone different.

Just read that-it really f$####n made my blood boil! FFS -yes Drua played well -against a team of young club guys who train twice a week after work, not a national professional team! And oh yes-ARU HAVE JUST CUT A TEAM! Btw, the latest news is to every Super team to have a Fijian player included. Sounds a bit like the SA rule with compulsory inclusion of black players. I sure do hope Twiggy gets there First!
