I think it was the same game where he sent a try to the TMO (can't remember which team) and them proceded to ignore the TMOs advice and his own indication and shaft the Force (I think it was force try, with a penalty advantage which he said he thought was a try and got the TMO to check grounding, but after the TMO said inconclusive, go with your original call of try he called held up and gave a scrum on the five)
But I might be wrong. it might have been one of the string of penalty tries he's awarded against us when the opposition was scrummaging illegally in some way.
C'mon the
Gigs that decision with Nick Briant was against the sharks and we only got beaten by 3 i think. Thats the argument I've been running all season about the refs, they're just not up to grade compared to Peyper etc. We've had the pleasure of Hoffman and Briant several times and all 5 games have had dubious decisions. When people claim to play good enough to take the ref out of the equation it makes damn hard to do when some of them cock up decisions so badly.
I think I agree with you boof, but I'm also one of the ones who is saying we need to take the ref out of the equation.
By that I mean, I'm simply sick of having our results in the hands of such an obviously flawed system.
We either need to be so obviously better than the opposition that the bad calls are simply unjustifiable or score enough points that the ones we lose as a result of biased or incompetent reffing don't lose us the match.
I never said that would be easy, but I'm pretty sure once we start winning without the ref's help, we'll start getting more help from the ref, with all the catch 22 that that suggests.
C'mon the

Skelton was playing like a man possessed yesterday...!
Again though, the refs were giving the Tahs a helping hand. Twice in the second half, Skelton was let off with just penalties for foul play, when he should probably have had a yellow for at least one of them. Then, McCaw gets a yellow for entering from the side at a ruck inside the 5, when the Tahs had previously deliberately collapsed two driving mauls heading for the try line. Lack of consistency again..!
Skelton has been cited post game Scozzie. The Tahs' hooker has been cited too.

He was probably ok with it!!

You're probably right. I was speaking to a retired NSW rugby referee a couple of years ago, and he'd ref'd a few Randwick games with Cheika playing, and he commented on how Cheika "would put himself around a bit"...............not exactly the words he used, but thought I'd keep it clean....!
Cheika:
"He (Whitelock) didn't land on his head.
"It was an awkward combination of the two, they were trying to hold him up for the maul, one was up top.
"Sometimes it just happens, so I wouldn't expect that anything was going to happen.

I get the feeling that the TMO was talked out of Skelton's yellow - I think even the F*xtel Rugby Mouthpieces mentioned a yellow would do. Kafe was really having a go in the background, I'm pretty sure he mentioned a Red.
"Skelton went unpunished, but upon review the citing commissioner deemed that the alleged action of both men met the red card threshold for foul play"

Let's see what happens
What the hell were the TMO and ref looking at that they couldn't get that right?
May the FORCE be with you!
The outcome of this hearing will be VERY interesting indeed! Just how far do those NSWRU tentacles stretch?!!
My views of Skelton are well known and his oafish behaviour yesterday only reinforces them 😡

Latu will go for a couple of weeks for the lifting in the tackle.
Skelton might get one for the slam at the of the tackle on Whitelock.
