Curious from listening to Alan Jones - Who would want Clyne's job? He alludes that other board members are angling for his job "he is being white-anted from within". Jones has a veiled threat to those trying, by telling them to stop or they will be "exposed". Eales, Robinson? Sounds to me that Alan Jones has come around on Cameron Clyne and is in his corner now. He certainly has no time for Eales "For Eales I can tell you can forget him.... I've been on boards with him he has nothing to contribute". He closes with "Certainly Cameron Clyne is trying to talk to everybody and that's to his credit". Why is Jones now applauding Clyne? What a mess.
Because despite championing the Force I'm sure Jones has his own agenda he is trying to promote.
The puppet master Jones has his pet marionette, Papworth, in line for a controlling position in the ARU.
Papworth couldn't care less about anything other than Eastwood, the Shute Shield and money for Eastwood.
If Papworth gets in the big winner will be Jones, who will vicariously be making the decisions.
Trust him like a viper.
Maybe it's time to close this thread Boss. No sense offending an ally with too much truth.![]()
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
I think the cats out of the bag already.
As Jargan said, Jones has his own agenda (as does everyone else), I can't see a few individuals here having much influence over that

It's a problem I have when people call for the board to be sacked. How do we know that they won't be replaced by, eg, 9 former Randwick players?
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
8 board positions, 8 states and territories = each state/territory should get to appoint their own board member to the national body.
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Like Jones or not
Trust Jones or not.
At the moment RugbyWA and the Western Force desperately need people like Alan Jones and his microphone. We need for people on the East Coast to keep on caring about our plight. Without them people on the East Coast will move on, forget or just start caring about something else.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
The enemy of my enemy is my friend is an ancient proverb which suggests that two opposing parties can or should work together against a common enemy. Couldn't be truer at this time!
May the FORCE be with you!
I've been giving AJ more cred than other commentators because of his unique knowledge of the ARU, having been in the system. While he has the shock jock thing, he can speak to rugby union things more than most. He would seem to be a great vehicle for highlighting the plight in the Sydney/NSW area.
