the best way to think of a penalty goal is its an easy 3pts plus the opposition kicks the ball back to us at the restart unless more points are needed to win the game with time running out

Agreed it is much easier. If they went for the try, I would back them 100% even if it didnt eventuate in points. To me, going for the try every so often would show the variability that the other teams aren't expecting from us. I think it would also prove to the critics our determination a bit more. Obviously though it is not always the best option, especially if our scrum will just get hammered but if we have a slight chance & quick ball...IMHO go for it.

if we pass up 5 shots at goal to go for tries and then not end up scoring a try then we've missed out on 15 easy points and people start complaining about why we dont take penalty goals..... its an endless argument ( also is variability a word? do you mean variation )

I didn't say every shot, just one every so often. Yes variability is a word but yes i probably do mean variation.

i'm currently in Singapore and had the opportunity to watch it in the Penny Black pub with some other force supporters. About the pub, it seemed pretty quiet bar for some good supporters who were there. All were from australia (no surprises there). About the game, i was very very very disappointed. if the overpriced beers and the bad selection of beer annoyed me, the game definitely ruined my night. the force just didnt look like they were in the game, exactly like how we played against the stormers. I have to say that we definitely need to buck up badly. The boys need to put in some good training in the bye and Mitchell needs to have a good word from each of them. And we need to beat the chiefs, brumbies and hurricanes. The worse part of the night was, i couldn't afford to drink myself out of my misery cos of the price of the beers. darn.

I reckon rugbywa needs to hold another public training session, to show the boys that we are still behind them and that they still have us with them all the way.

i thought the force did well, its not easy playing your own first grade team, maybe if the boys play and train hard they will be selected for queensland next year!

Against the rules Jesus, you need to change your avatar to a reds one if you're going to bag us for a second week.......also start saying the Reds are the best team in Australia!

Why was O'Conner even playing for the Reds.

Unless they changed the rules that prevented us from playing bambam in our first season, then the Reds have played an underage and, therefore, illegal player.
