Actually the local WARL was much bigger before the arrival of the Reds. Super League War killed both off. I don't think your figure of 2000 Per game is anywhere accurate. The average was around 10K. I went to all of them. Your point re one off crowds is right though. It's exactly what I said in my post. Perth population demographic has changed markedly in the 17 years since.

WA rugby league in the early 90's was pretty awesome, I remember the State team playing some great games back then.
Japan and the Pacific Islands for Aussie Super 9's!
Let's have one of these in WA! Click this link: Saitama Super Arena - New Perth Stadium?
Yep. Very high standard in First Grade back then. The Reds came along at just the wrong time. Plus they misinformed on their financial and junior develipment positions and were under the pump from day one due to that and the outrageous requirement to pay the visiting teams' travel/accom expenses.
Sorry to hijack your fishing expedition again Fulvio.

Shasta, have a look at the Palmyra Rugby club website, if you don't believe something is in the wind.

haha hardly indicates a switch to RL but why not, apart from having a shot at the refs and the refs firing back, nothing much else is going on in Union here at grassroots at the minute (Esp bar takings)
Peace in our time, Pacman, old son.
Bear, I don't think they need you, somehow.
Ah good old Belmont. Was a time then when "do you play Rugby League" was a question on the employment form for Westside Welders.
Musta been run by a right old Charlie then.![]()

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa

"The club would like to thank those involved with our club; our sponsors; coaches, managers, players, parents, supporters. Without the amazing support we as a club community recieve we would never have been able to achieve all the onfield success this season. The club is entering an exciting period with some major announcements to come in the next month as we look to continue moving forward as a club."
I wonder what they might be??
