my being in hospital for 2 weeks changed my opinions of them
lumbar punctures and bone marrow samples ARE NOT FUN.
I got the same blood as TLH - first donated shortly after turning 16 with a parental consent, but have fallen by the wayside in recent years...
Always good to give a pint the day of a big nightout, less blood in the veins leaves room for more alcohol![]()
Excellent work, Jess![]()
I haven't given blood in ages... they don't like it when you take aspirin within a week prior, but nothing works as well as aspirin!
I actually got refused my cup of tea onceShe said I looked pale and about to faint. That's exactly why I need that cuppa!!!! I wouldn't have said no to a Guinness, though
Oh, and I really, really hate needles. Just look away and think of something else, jono. It's over before you know it.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal:
it is the courage to continue that counts.
- Winston Churchill
or, just dont give blood at all.
What bugs me about giving blood is you have to be in the metro area to do it.
There use to be a mobile van that toured the country areas so people could donate blood, however the funding was cut and that was the end of it.
Well done to all those who can do it and do![]()

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
wasnt personal jono, people should be encouraged to help where possible is all.......not a fan of drips meself, when i was a young'un in hospital with pneumonia the nurse shoved the needle in the wrong spot and it went through a muscle in me arm and caused a few problems and a lot of pain then pulled the needle out and did it again, got icecream and painkillers for a couple of days after that, dont fear needles though....good times, good times

Fair cop jono, each to their own in my opinion.
It's something that i've thought about but haven't got around to it.
I reckon if you can't donate blood, sign up for being an organ donor!
