I wonder if there is a certain amount of bridge building invloved in this appointment...I'm not saying it's bad, in fact it will be good to see less east v west bs and more done for rugby as a whole.

All the best Greg, make us prouder than we are, if that is possible.

No, no, whatever you're happy with. It's just that it appeared to me to be an oversized head of someone I didn't recognise superimposed on the body of someone in a Wallabies jumper.

But if you say it's Gitts.....

At the time I thought that Deans was one of the more intelligent , insightful people in rugby and kid dynamite was just a young lad enjoying the game - Now I think I got that wrong as well - Gitts has way more in the brains department than I thought

From the Sydney Uni Rugby web site

    Sydney University Football Club

    Farewell Huey
The Sydney University Football Club is deeply grateful to Greg Harris for his support over the past sixteen years. From the dark days of potential relegation to the halcyon era of the new century, Greg's steady hand has been there to guide the Club.

In particular, in the Club's quest for excellence, Greg has strongly encouraged the Club to identify young men with both rugby and academic talent and to bring them to the University. He has assisted in establishing an environmement of excellence throughout Sydney University Sport.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Greg was vocal in his support of the Club's stance in the establishment of a 'third tier' in Australian Rugby. Events over the past months have proved that the direction initially recommended by Sydney University was solid and well justified.

Always available for advice, Greg's counsel will be missed but we look forward to seeing him in his customary position on the hill at Number 1 Oval, surrounded by family, friends and his beloved dog.

Wonder if he still objects to ARC??

Wonder what his position is on players returning to their east coast clubs?

Peter O'Meara has connections to Queensland Rugby but that didn't influence his actions while he was in the chair here. Let's hope for more of the same.
