The reality is any team in this comp needs depth. With the injuries we had last year, a number of combinations would have been possible with game time for most. This year we have been relatively lucky. An injury or two in the next few weeks in the backs and Spanner, Sare, Daruda etc could ALL get a run. Combinations are important, perhaps more so in the backs than forwards, making rotation in the bakcs harder.
How has Shep, the other winger, managed to get his hands on it and score more tries than anyone else in the competition?Originally Posted by frontrow
I feel real bad for Staniforth, but what can you do?
If he does indeed leave (*PLEASE DON'T!!!) - I hope he makes it to another Australian club and torments us for the next few years ...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
I was under the impression that he was leaving because he was downgraded by the ARU.
/me slaps self in forehead ....

So you think Mitch elected not to use Scott just to upset you?Originally Posted by main game
Force clearly have a system and a season plan, putting one player in a position just because that is where he wants to be can have repercussions for the entire system.
Its like an ankle injury transmiting problems to your neck.
You have to look at the big picture here, the system is starting to work, sure they are only 70% there but I am sure Mitch and his coaching staff know what they are doing.
Hasta la vista Pam
Drew Mitchell?putting one player in a position just because that is where he wants to be can have repercussions for the entire system.
IMHO, Drew's been a success at #15. His coverage in defence has been superb (apart from 1 try earlier in the season when he tried to be a little cute with kicking a loose ball into touch).
We'll never know whether Shepherd would've scored that many tries from fullback or whether Mitchell would've scored the equivalent tries from the wing.
Coach Mitchell seems to have the players in positions where they are performing as a team, for the team and we're reaping the benefits of that as supporters!!!!!!!

MG, it is the coaches job to pick the strongest side that "HE" wants.Originally Posted by main game

Now you may argue different, but it'll need to be a good argument as the Western Force are currently third on the log and are playing the top Super 14 side next up.
Further more the Crusaders are not garuanteed a win, despite the fact they have not lost at home for 24 games and are on the verge of a history making 100 Super wins, against the Force.
Spanner is a brilliant player - no doubt about it - but facts are facts and the Western Force are winning - everbody is dispensible and nobody is garuanteed a start unless they perform!
Brother Gallagher I hear you
no wonder players are leaving. Chris O'Young has been amongst the clubs best everytime he has got on the field but it appears because they paid so much for the Canberra boy they have to play him. Can't blame O'Young for looking elsewhere, but it is a shame that it appears he will never be able to lock down a spot long enough to show wallaby selectors what he has got. Where else would O' Young get a start anyways? Henjak has performed very well game in game out and deserves the #9 jersey.
Every forwards dream is to become a back...
