before we get toooo carried away praising the exceelent and competent job the Board and Vern Reid are doing, lets not forget what has gone on this year, and for the past three months, and the past two weeks in particular.

It has been an unmitigated shambles, out of which it may well bear fruit.

Exactly, it has been directionless, aimless, uninspiring and has given us no reason to think that it would change.

Hopefully though they have made decisions to improve the situation and have started by a complete change to the coaching structure.

All is not forgiven yet, but at least it is a step in the right direction.

If they manage to put that together, all hope is not lost IMHO and we will be in a far better place than the Tahs!
I'd be happy with that but coaches cost big bucks these days. Could a club afford that many coaches? Can se why Hardy's job has got the chop.

Given his recent record, he should have been nice and cheap!!!

Imagine how many retired players they can lure back with all that extra money!!

This is my first post on here so i'll avoid anything contraversial I hope!!

I am so pleased we finally have appointed someone, whether as Head Coach or Director of Rugby or whatever title they chose to give Michael Foley. I would have been happy with any kind of news on that front, but we have to be positive and look forward to brighter times for the Force and give him our full support. I know John Mitchell was unpopular with some but I was a member in the Subi days and loved watching the roller coaster ride that was Force rugby - so as you can tell I have a low entertainment threshold!! My point being that it wasn't always like it has been for the last 2 seasons (depressing) and we have loads to look forward to. Bambam is a fantastic player and I wish him well at the Brumbies, but there are plenty where he came from and I don't think the back row is a problem for us. I would love to see us move for a game changer player in the mould of a Corey Jane, Israel Dagg, or a Berrick Barnes (the 2012 model) Just the one player that gives a spark to a backline that has lacked spark since JO'C left. We have a bit of money now he's gone and i'm sure the new management team will go plundering for a marquee player. Now i'm back in the city i'll be able to go and watch my beloved Force!! Onwards and Upwards!!

Thanks everyone!! Time to get excited about who we might get on next years roster!! I think we may well reap the benefits of a coach with a few points to prove to a few people and a few feisty local derby's as a result. If the Honey Badger is anything to go by all our players (with a stable coaching set up) have the potential to step up and challenge for a Wallabies jersey ....

Bison can you help me out for a second. I am trying to understand what exactly the board did wrong in the past three months and in particular the two weeks.

I am guessing that the 3 months you are referring to is the failure of RugbyWA to sign a Head Coach and the failure to re-sign D. Pocock.

The 2 weeks I guess is the all of the speculation by the media. and the failure by RugbyWA to respond to the speculation.

Personally speaking - I am surprised that the hunt for a head coach took only 3 months. I was expecting it to take another month or too. Was the process successful? Yes I believe that we got the best man available for the job. The failure to re-sign D. Pocock. I think that Pocock was always heading East. No matter what was offered. The failure to respond speculation from the media - well I believe that has been mandated by the ARU since the Genia debacle. If RugbyWA aren't permitted to respond to media speculation, and there is nothing to announce apart from "the process is continuing" what exactly did they (RugbyWA) do wrong?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
