"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
WOW, that's a big statement to make, basically if somebody with a better knowledge than me of Super Rugby before the Force can come up with a single case where a player was offered third party payments to join a team you're wrong.
I wonder if this post will jog any memories?
C'mon the
Lets start with the "L's"
Latham, Lote.
Tic and Tocc, you're sounding more like Mudskipper everyday
Ive got nothing against TOCC at all, he is just sticking up for his team... as we do for ours
I have nothing against either of the Queenslanders who post here, their contributions to the site are valued and I definately understand wh ythey as supporters would like to keep QC. My problem with this situation is that through various media sources the 3rd party deal linked to he Force has been painted as "evil" and the Quade Cooper will be committing Rugby suicide if he were to take it up. But the 3rd party deal offered by a Queensland company to keep QC in Qld is being painted as the salvation of the Rugby universe to keep QC "where he belongs"
Bit of bias in the reporting don't you think?
Now I'm off to finish making my Tin foil hat.....
I think some people are over reacting and getting overly defensive about this topic, no one is labelling the Force 'evil' or anything like that, several personalities have voiced there opinion on the topic of why QLD would be a better spot for Quade, and at the end of the day the points they have raised have more to do with whats good about QLD as opposed to been whats wrong with the Force.
points like:
1) genia-quade combo
2) loyalty to quade throughout the years from the Reds
3) qld is a young team on the rise
i personally dont remember any cases, theres no disputing the fact that the prominence of such cases has rise since the inception of the Force.
care to elaborate?
what about a QC- OConnor - Turner Combo??? JUst because they are doing well this year doesnt mean someone wont come along in the next couple of years that will rock the apple cart... just look at the Giteau - Valentine combo - they were touted by many to be the Wallaby incumbant's and where are they now.. Gits has certainly lost his 10 spot and there are a number of eager youngsters looking to take his 12 spot too!
2) Thats bulls*t - its more often the other way around in professional rugby. The reds see a talented player that has the ability to be a world class player - why wouldnt they try to hold on to him.. your point is moot.
3)I think youll find that the Force are too... no other team in the Comp has blooded 5 players under 20 in a single game!
losing 6 straight games and then winning 2 shows we are also on the rise
TOCC, I don't think the word 'evil' was used, but the likes of Growden and co were using phrases such as: "extraordinary deal", "lure", "the Force appear to be back in the business of brokering third-party deals, but in a well disguised way", and "maverick approach".
Yes, we react and get defensive when people write un-substantiated attacks on our team - wouldn't you?
I'd prefer Cooper to stay in Queensland, but I wouldn't say no if the Force did put an offer together which enticed him. I don't suppose you'd mind if the Reds put an offer together to entice Rabbit or Pocock back to Queensland.
boomer, if you have a problem then how about your voice it rather then just smiting me
settle down tiger, like i said, they are purely points which have been raised by other players and former players as to why Quade should stay in QLD.
like i said, some of you are getting overly defensive and as a result are lashing out irrationally
im sure it had nothing to do with incumbent wallaby fullback matthew burke sitting in front of him at NSW

OMG bring on the bloody court case, get the ARU to sort their end of things, get him signed by someone - anyone! - and lets get on with discussing rugby - not bitching like schoolgirls....
