Yeah, decent leadership and someone with a cool head running the show. Giteau played an ok game but I would expect him to really stand up and run the show when the going gets tough. He certainly didn't here. Maybe he's already thinking about next season and the hunger isn't really there?
What got under my goat, (for people who didn't go to the game & watched it on fox like I did, personal matters made it impossible to attend) was 75th minute mitchell joking around and having a laugh in the defensive line with I think with Giteau.
Once again we bring it up Mitchell is not a #15.
Not looking forward to the tahs game with the injuries to come out of the game.
I haven't seen the game yet. Listened in on radio. Seemed to me there was a crucial wrong tactical decision right towards the end of the game after the front row replacments had been made. They took a scrum 10m inside their territory when the 'Canes were within reach of victory and were turned and lost the feed. Giteau should have kicked deep into their half and the Force chased hard to force the lineout.

I'll come back to you on that one B&B - it was down the other end to where I was. Note that Dicko (the ref) awarded it immediately, rather than going to the TMO, so he obviously though it ok.
But then the TMO wasn't very popular anyway. A local lad who shall be ribbed mercilessly at the next ref meeting he attends.......
Sharpie's try was a try not a lost forward
Okay thanks, Ecky. As I mentioned, shades of jimmy gopperth (ie an obvious non-try awarded immediately by the ref.)

im sorry i have to disagree with everyone. i think the boys played with HEART for 81 minutes.. even the replacements (christ they're replacements for a reason!)
the Canes were DESPERATE and we underestimated them and we paid the price..
the first half was the best 40 mins of rugby if seen the Force play all year .. including the Brumbies & reds games.. they were clinical!.. unfortunately injuries to Cummings, Stanners, Brown, Pocock, Hodgo and the physical level of play they took through all the way to about the 75th minute wouldve taken its toll.
Im proud of everyone irrespective of the score.. and 2 bonus points is better than a poke in the eye! (5 wouldve been better of course! and at 75mins i was convinced we'd done enough)
shattered with the result but again proud of their effort!
that ref was stupid!Sharpie's try was a try not a lost forward
BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
Also we seam to be playing for time in the last 15 min or so, why we took a scrum on our half when we could of spun it and kept position instead we were short arm and they run in a try. Gutted but proud in that we have learnt to score trys. Sheps will be back next week and should see Spanner to the bench if hes fit (cant see it)
Player of the match: Browny again when he cam,e off momentum shifted hes a work horse and him and Pocock work well together.
I do think they played well but still have trouble holding onto the ball i was on the edge of my seat evertime they got it and lost it. To lose in the 81st minute was disappointing.
going on precendents. the canes final try should have been disallowed. there was two groundings of the ball. which is what sharpe did. he did NOT loose control of the ball. one hand came off, but the other hand stayed on the ball the entire time.
shit happens...
i wanna know if we are still a shot at the four?
ox your senario is played out again this year
i want to tell you to wash your mouth out bb.
but i thnk you may be right.
shep cant get a break at the moment...
