I wonder if he will stay in Perth or move back east? There would definitely be an advisory/forward coaching role at the Force if he wanted it.
at the press confrence at the brumbies traning Paul was quiet about his futre and he didnt say he was going to stay with the brumbies. he said he was going to finnish the year off with the brumbies and he was hopefully going to sucure his futre in the next few weeks.
Re Paul, there is a Fox media report (I can't watch it) with a caption saying he won't be playing for the Force.
Without watching I can't tell you why.

Looking for the big bucks OS.
Basically indicates he will definitely be leaving Oz Rugby after the WC.
The medical retirement for Maximus was on the cards from last year.
He was only finishing up his career this year - trying to squeeze in a few Wallaby games.
There is now a call, from some, that scrums should be phased out all together. I am against that move. There is no reason that scrums are any more dangerous than ever, nor any safer (despite law tinkerers).
Cannons big injury last year was at a scrum set - the Ref was busy 'chatting' with the prop and the opposition set the scrum. Cannon was not Fully Suported by Front Row ... If refs want to give lectures let them do it after the game. Set the scrum and get the ball flowing.
Max was a great advocate for the scrum ... and a Great Force player.
Welcome hopep and nice first up post
Perhaps that is a future for the great one, he can become the Referee's Forwards Coach!
He's been auditioning for years, should be a shoe in!

If they were to take the scrum out of union, you can say goodbye to the whole thing....It would kill rugby forever...
Proudly bought to you by a brewery somewhere....
The scrum and the ruck are the only things that stop rugby forwards from being muscled up backs. Look at League, the average forward there started their career in the centres and are fast, stepping big blokes, there's no place in that game for the Large, Powerful but slow or immobile forward. that's because the scrum is uncontested all the time andtherefore power is unnecessary. This is the distinctive that makes rugby a game for the masses, the presence of truly large muscular guys ironically makes a place for skinny weedy little men like me to run around them, you also find a spot for tall skinny twigs along with the truly godlike athletic specimens that so few of us are. Just compare any international Rugby team with an international Rugby league team, the scrum is what allows variation, fix it, but keepit.

keep it. yes there are injures but its only a small majority in rugby. no scum - no rugby. ide have no place because i know i wouldnt be fast enough to keep up with the speed of a league game. an you know what they say... RUGBY the game played in heaven

T'was a sad day indeed when Cannon decided to retire.
One of the true champions of Australian Rugby and he will be sorely missed.
Thanks for the memories Maximus!![]()
May The Force Be With You
Agree. Canno will always be remembered as one of the toughest characters in the game. Very sad to see him retire before the RWC but it was the right thing to do. Hope he remains involved with rugby!Originally Posted by peterss
I wonder if they'll continue his tenure as he signed up for another year. I'd love to see him stay. I wonder what the chances are of him getting involved in the coaching side......I guess he needs his tickets first though.
Just happy to be here
from what I've heard .. quite good TEF!!
