"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
Fuck it, I'm gonna bite, this bloke has received the highest award for bravery in the Australian context, he is one of only three recipients of the modern award and has been assessed as showing "conspicuous bravery in the face of the enemy" I don't know if you have any links with the military mate, but the freedom you enjoy (so obviously by posting crap like that) has been hard won by the brave blokes like Cpl Roberts-Smith who consider such freedom to be worth them risking their lives to defend.
Dismiss his status all you like, it only makes you look like more of a dick!
C'mon the
Don't understand this, must just be The Full Retard.
Haven't seen Tropic Thunder?
I have, (the most expensive war movie ever made, actually cost more that the invasion of Greece and Crete) but didn't understand the reference. Perhaps I was being too basic?
I threw the quote I was referring to into my first post
That might help
Sorry got the context wrong.
It's the one downfall of forums, should posts be seen as a conversation or as independent replies to original topics.
Fighting in a war that's has resulted in tens of thousands of civilian deaths. Don't spin crap about soldiers there sacrificing themselves for my safety, if anything our participation in that war has just made us a bigger terrorist target.
He is a hero to his mates but eveyone shouldnt be excpected to idealise him

I think using your own body as a shield so that an Afghan civilian attached to your unit can be safely treated for his wounds does count as self sacrifice. It's as if you don't actually know anything about what he was awarded the Victoria Cross for.
Sounds like the Midland Hills RUFC might like to know the kind of member they have?
To question our countries participation in a war is not something that should be laid at the feet of the men and women in uniform. The decision to send our Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen in to combat is a political decision and should you wish to criticize that decision, I would suggest you take it up with your local member of the Federal Parliament.
To openly criticize a member in uniform because you don't agree with a political decision is abhorrent.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
