For what its worth I think the SA team played OK rugby throughout the comp.
The Poms never really had many options and the disallowed try was VERY line-ball decision. Any yarpie supporters out there - congratulate all the team on their return home - they may not have been the best team, they may not have been the most exciting to watch, I'm sure there is still room for improvement (from what I saw) BUT... they were the most consistent for the entire tournament.
Thats what is needed to win "Bill" - total consistency of purpose and deed.
Well done.
did anybody notice after the game, jonny didnt even bother to shake hands with the SA president after recieving his medal. What a sore loser.!!! manners cost nothing, even in defeat.!! Well, have to say, it might have been "ugly rugby" but the better team won at the end. Now we just wait to see what excuses the whingeing poms come up with. Sucked in losers,, 4 years is a long time...
Some of you guys on here are starting to sound a bit bitter toward the boks win, are you just pissed that the wallabies didnt make it???
Almac - your right. We're probably a bit peeved that we weren't up to the standard this time.
But - we need to remind all supporters of losing teams of the ONE drink rule:
You can cry in your beer, but only for ONE drink... after that its just watering it down for no reason.
Never doubted them. They played their brand of rugby the whole tournament and then beat England at their own game in the final.
Full credit to the boys!

(Oh and South Africa is now the most succesful nation in RWC history)
Every forwards dream is to become a back...
How do you work that one out? The Aussies have won 2 cups too. If you're going on actual number of RWC matches won then I think the Aussies would come out ahead as SA didn't play in 1987!
Also, the Aussies won both their tournaments AWAY from home so that must count for more than SA winning one at home & one away.
CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
South Africa also didn't compete in the 1991 RWC either.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
One of my best friends is English.
hahaha loser.
That was definitely a no try.
Foxtel IQ allowed me to watch it from every angle as many times as I wanted and at any speed I should wish![]()
Well I'll give them a slight margin because they have a player who, incredibly for a prop, has two gold medals 12 years apart and played every minute of the final. One of my fav non-Wallaby players. Maybe not too good a reason, but it'll do me.
Well done Boks and extremely well done Ox.

It was great to be there - the english fans were on form and won the best dressed and most party animals contest - the Bokkies were more subdued and just looked quitely pleased think this may have had something to do with the nasty RAND Euro exchange rate.
Delighted for the Boks at least they showed the rest of the world how to beat this negative game invented by the English - hopefully others will learn from the experience to - this game and New Zealand Vs France where both the most instresting form a stragetic point of view - not pretty or the showcase the IRB wanted needed but something else indeed- Ref was correct to disallow the try his foot did touch the line there were at least 8 replays no english fan was in doubt on the night.
Final in Sth Africa was better still a huge night and great fun- Shame about the train strike and all those english fans walking around in just shirts at 2 am in the morning (it was 2 degrees by then) - 1 lot we met took 8 hours to get back to their campsite (15 km from the ground) they walked most of the way ! no cabs anywhere !
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
The Boks only won because they didn't have to face the Wallabies!
