7s will be brilliant on the Gold Coast... Adelaide has had it for a long time... much better for Australian tourism, I think after a few years it will become bigger than Honkers... Good call easy to fly in and out of for most OZ rugby fans… I must say why was it in Adelaide in the first place?... Adelaide has the best arts festival in Australia...but rugby?...

I'm guessing because of the Adelaide International Provincial Sevens that they used to host - it was actually quite successful back in the 90s and attracted some of the top teams and players from the Southern Hemisphere. I distinctly remember a Counties side featuring Jonah Lomu and Joeli Vidiri in 1996.
The World Series is starting to outgrow some of the smaller events like Adelaide though.
