I agree Henjak started it, who knows it could have been a soft punch. Sare could easily have a glass jaw. He is a back after all.
Henjak obviously cannot handle his alcohol. The ARU and RugbyWa knew this and they should of had steps in place to manage him. He did come with baggage after all.
Now if he leaves and goes to an overseas club he will still be an ambassador for australian rugby. What if it happens again.
I reckon he should be fined heavily, suspended from the western force for 3 months. The ARU should make sure he is councilled correctly this time and he should be charged by the police and given another even larger fine along with community service work.
The clubs are full of young guys 17 and onwards all physically fit, competing for positions with lucrative contracts on offer. Fights are going to happen and regularly do on the training track, they are handled in house.
Other players from other clubs appear to get off alot lighter than Matt Henjak has. Let's face it he should have been wearing green and gold last year, especially if Dunning and Tikari were.
As for the Quokka fiasco, what a joke! they are overgrown rats for gods sake!
Do we know Henjak started it then? I thought there was a verbal which turned into a physical which then spilled out into the "Sare sitting down and Henjak striking him while not in a position to defend himself" thing.
How did Henjak start it? What was "it" about anyway?
I have also heard that Sae is not that well-liked in the playing group. Anyone know if that's the case?
who cares who started what. It's two professionals scrapping in a public place. What would happen if we started a scrap of such violence in front of our workmates...same thing, lose your job.
These people are in the public eye and are ambassadors for their club, country and sport. How do you explain this to young players who idolise and copy professionals? It was hard enough explaining about Ben Cousins to my 7 year old. Lucliky he doesn't really follow rugby yet.
The game is better off without this. Look at League, footie and other sports and the trouble players have caused recently.
Enough said
AJL- AJ Lolly?
i think henjak got it too harsh. he was/is a fantastic player and could have brought the force a long way :]
Be There. Be Heard. Be The Force Behind The Force
Does anybody know what the actual reason for all this was, besides just speculation?! I'm pretty sure at the tribunal ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING would have been brought out in order to rule on things properly- if it wasn't, then surely all the players would be up in arms about the punishments. Doesn't seem like they're too worried, so we can only assume that the punishments must be fair in some way. If we knew the real story, maybe Henjak's sacking is something that should have happened long ago, or maybe Haig Sare was asking for a punch in the mouth and deserves his suspension? As members of the public, we just don't know; what I will say is that hopefully all this sort of crap is finished (and the quokkas too!) because we don't need another god-damn loser team like the West Coast Eagles in this town- and we don't need to be the Canterbury-Bankstown of the Super 14!![]()

On the up side, at least Chris O'Young is back, and hopefully he and Stannard in Wallaby contention

I agree Chibi, If there was too much witch hunt going on, Matty would've gone to appeal.....that date's passed now without so much as a blip!

well it was said early does it matter who started it both should have received the same penalty. As for the appeal Gigs as it occured to you that maybe just maybe Yak as been gagged thus allowing the door open for next season?.
now there has been an incident concerning a Glory player
interested to see what coverage this will get
A couple of Glory players were drinking to gether in a bar when one walked within a metre of the other.
The victim began writhing on the ground screaming and holding his leg until the police arrived to take statements, the police splashed some water on his leg at which point he recovered enough to tell his side of the story.
Names have been witheld at this point.
The victim was seen playing hacky sack later in the night!
