Last year clubbies ridiculed the Force for letting their players head East. This year they get ridiculed for getting the boys to stay.. it seems no win.
These guys are pros and after the Brumbies game a number had injuries and other commitments that stopped them playing the 3 games. If our comp had 3 more rounds to go we would not have this debate. Circumstances due to Lions tour etc. Etc has brought this about at this time. Westie I bet Pek and Sam have been down at training for past 4 weeks.
I am sure Pugsy will pick the team that wins, Pek and Sam may or may not be in the run on side. Your choice.
Please don't get me wrong on the Force players or Team. I am totally behind the force team, players and go to many of the games. I wish there was 15 Force players playing this weekend .
But I have to ask where is this competition going with using the old "Special Dispensation" Card.
What about Wanneroo, Perth, Rockingham, Kala next year can they fly in two Queensland Reds players if they make the finals and claim Special Dispensation ?
Please Please WARU can we play by the rules you set down at the start of the year and not new rules you pull out of your behind come finals time.
We will always be going around and around in circles with this issue because you can argue it either way and I think both points of view are valid.
1) It is unfair on the opposition who have no Force players and it is unfair on the players who have been benched etc I think everyone would agree with this.
2) The Force Players are professional athletes on paid contracts so they need to be playing rugby, so to turn around and tell them that they cannot play in our local club comp is not going to help them.
I guess most of us are never going to know the truth behind why so little of them have played WA club rugby during the year when not playing for the Force and why they are only now suddenly available for finals. If most of them had played the last 2 games of the season for example we would probably be more understanding.
Can someone quote what competition rule will be broken if Wests allow Pek and Sam on the field this week?
11.2 Finals Eligibility
(a) Subject to the other provisions of this rule, a player is not eligible to play
for his Club in any particular grade in Finals matches unless:
(i) He is registered with that Club and has competed for that Club in at
least one third of the separate rounds in the regular season. In the
case of a contracted professional player with the ARU and RugbyWA,
has competed for that Club in at least three (3) competition matches in
separate rounds in that season and has not played more club games
with another club outside WA during the season whilst fulfilling his
obligations as a contracted professional player; and
(ii) He has played the majority of those games in a team in that grade
or in a team in a lower grade; or
(iii) He has played an equal number games in any number of teams in
different grades he shall be deemed to be a player of the highest grade
played during the season.
Sounds like Wests are fucked then! Anyone got the number of Essendons lawyer?
I think his phone is engaged
And the players and coaches are singing a famous 1997 song by The Verve.

Dispensation Rule 11.3
(iv) Where a player is graded as ineligible as a direct result of that player’s
involvement in representative matches including Emirates Western Force
matches and all WA State Team(s) representative matches played throughout
the season.
Which in a nutshell means they can play
Check this a thread from a couple years back. http://twf.com.au/showthread.php?t=27079
I think Rick Boyd's comment near the end of the page is a pretty fair assessment.
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
A shame this is still an issue. No Force player should be getting involved with the club finals, 'cos they should all be playing in the ARC and focused on pushing their claims for the Wallabies...
